The Collapse

In 1204 the world as many knew it was completely upended in an event known simply as the Collapse.

Mountains standing tall into the sky were flattened, the seas receded before returning to flood the land, the grounds quaked with enough force to level buildings, and the winds whipped into such a frenzy they carried away rooted trees among other things.

No one quite understood why this happened, why some parts of the world were hit harder than others, or why some places became uninhabitable after everything that happened. People looked for answers, but it simply appeared as if there were none to be found.

To make matters worse gods that were once present in the world, communicating with their worshipers, actively changing things.....simply vanished. They have not been seen or heard from since, though those who draw their power from divinity have not noticed a decrease in said power. The gods surely cannot be dead if those in the world doing their works can still function, but something has happened to them and most believe whatever it is it's not good.
