Jackie, as she prefers to be called, is an absolute enigma. Her past isn't one she talks about at all other than the fact she used to be an adventurer. A bard, telling stories as she traveled through music and trying to bring joy to people.

In the aftermath of The Collapse, however, she found that difficult. Few people had use for stories and song when they were trying to rebuild their lives. Jackie ended up at The Crystal River Academy, and from there the headmistress offered her a job as the band teacher. After all Jackie could play a multitude of instruments and could learn the ones she didn't already know, and while her rough demeanor was off putting to some she ended up making an excellent teaching assistant her first year and fully took over when the previous teacher retired and she's been teaching ever since.
