While most aasimar are born in Kamaria or one of its sister cities it's not unheard of them to be born elsewhere. So Mai was born to Epyc before The Collapse shattered what was left of the fragile city. She thought she'd live her entire life there, but when everything began to fall apart and the survivors fled Mai had to go with them. Most headed for Brightwitch, unaware of what had transpired, and from there Mai knew her best bet was to become an adventurer.

Of course having never fought a day in her life she had to go through a lot of training, and even then the Guild was hesitant to send her out for practical experience. So Mai has mostly handled small jobs in the area, easy things that most commoners could handle if they knew how. She hates it, but at least it pays well.
