Born to researchers who lived at the very edges of Cuthai, the place of overgrown flora meant a lot to Arryn growing up. When her parents sent her away to The Crystal River Academy for education she found herself missing home so much she spent every break traveling back and spent all her free time at school amongst its gardens.

When she graduated, Arryn left to pursue her own dreams in helping research and understand the Cuthai as an independent party not affiliated with the school or anyone else. Something never added up and she suspected the major factions trying to research the place were suppressing the truth.

After The Collapse, however, most of the research bases were abandoned and Arryn found herself alone save maybe a dozen others instead of the hundreds that used to be there. And in time even they too have left, telling Arryn she should go too but she refused; Cuthai is her life's work, and she will stay in what buildings remain intact and livable as long as she can on her own. The place provides plenty of food and clean water, the weather is usually mild, and there's no animals save some sea birds and a few ocean creatures on the beaches to threaten her. It's paradise while she studies and hopes to find the truth behind the strange place.
