Angela was born to be vampire food; the courts in Hem Lodir often employ breeding programs to make sure they always have enough food. At birth she was sold to another vampire clan and always understood her place was to serve the vampires.

So she grew up, educated only enough to do the jobs she needed to do in the household and conditioned to obey. In her adulthood the vampires discovered she was naturally barren, and with no means to make profit off her through breeding the clan decided to sell her to a brothel in Firebend instead. After all, with no risk of becoming pregnant without any intervention she could make the brothel a pretty penny indeed.

Then The Collapse hit and many places, including Firebend, were hit hard. The brothel owner took the money and ran, leaving the workers to fend for themselves during the catastrophe. Angela stepped up to rally them, somehow shaken out of all her training by the disaster around her.

Angela helped Firebend rebuild, but she and the brothel workers who decided to stay were first to head to Moonfell to begin building. They knew that there they could make a place for themselves and escape the stigma that followed them in Firebend even with all the good they had done.

With the help of the dryads Angela was able to set up The Lighthouse and from there set her sights on using her position to save others. Rather than keep the profits for herself she uses them to buy the contracts of other brothel workers and offer them work in the Lighthouse if they want it or a chance to do whatever they wanted besides; many have become cooks, maids, and other staff the Lighthouse needs while not continuing to engage in sex work. Others have simply taken some starting funds and gone off to make life for themselves.

Either way Angela tries to help, and does not let people mistreat those who work for her. She also engages in the work herself, always making sure that the job is as safe and comfortable as possible for those who choose it.
