Born to the mining city of Starmouth, Adele is old enough to remember the place in its height - but she also remembers how much of what they did relied on magic when it could have been done the mundane way, and in the wake of The Collapse how everyone had trouble recovering because of it.

This sent her down a path of learning the art of arcane ethics. Essentially knowing when to use magic for a task and when to do it the mundane way, and why. She went to The Crystal River Academy to study the subject, and it was such a passion project that eventually when her teacher retired she was named the successor. Working with kids was never Adele's plan, of course, but she couldn't deny that a chance to teach so that hopefully the mistakes of her home would not be repeated was something she couldn't pass up.
