While Katrina was born to Stormbell, her parents moved to Kamaria when she was still a child. Her mother's position as the Aries for The Starlight Squad afforded her some measure of knowing what the future would bring and after a prophetic dream of the city of Stormbell relatively abandoned she opted to move herself and her family somewhere safer.

A few years later The Collapse hit and by the time Katrina was in her teens Stormbell was mostly empty as many of the remaining people fled to Kamaria. Seeing that her mother's power was that strong, Katrina couldn't wait to be the next Aries. She got her chance in her late twenties when the mantle was handed to her, and she was quick to learn about other members of the Squad and take her position with as much ease as her life leading up to that point would allow.
