Born very shortly after The Collapse, it was clear from the start Mizuki had healing powers - most likely associated with the unicorn part of her. As Lorasera was in need of those to help heal not only their own who came back injured but some day accompany groups to help heal those injured by the things they hunted.

So regardless of what she wanted, that was how Mizuki was raised. She was taken to the infirmary on a regular basis and expected to use her powers on those who were hurt and barely given enough time in between to rest and regain her energy. Always exhausted, and always seeming to hurt herself but never having the time or energy to heal herself, it seemed as if no one ever cared about her beyond her healing powers.

Finally Mizuki left; in the middle of the night she snuck out and fled. It took everything in her to do it, but she knew that keeping on the track her parents expected would kill her some day if not from the exhaustion and mental stress then from some kind of accident she would have because she was never able to properly recover. And knowing that her parents and the Hunters of Lorsaera had way too much reach, Mizuki knew she couldn't safely live in any society. So she's become somewhat of a forest witch, haunting the eastern wilds of Rothary and heading into the cities only when she needs to and only long enough to trade for essentials before disappearing again.
