Hana was born and raised in Firebend, having a relatively normal life until The Collapse hit. The city found itself devastated, many of their heads dead and a new government needing to be formed.

Always having been overly ambitious, Hana decided to take a chance on an old story about a traveling merchant who appears when the moon is full. Tracking the rumors and stories of where the merchant was seen she was able to put together a pattern and figure out where the next location would be, and she went there to wait.

Sure enough the ethereal figure walked straight out of the sea, a pack seemingly too big for her to carry resting on her shoulders and a smile across her face. Hana was quick to make a deal with the woman, for she knew how things worked; the woman would ask for no payment, but memories. What she'd take depended on what one wanted, the more precious the item the more precious the memory.

Hana gave up all the memories of her parents, who perished in the Collapse, in exchange for an enchanted lute that would make her one of the greatest bards in history. She returned to Firebend, showing she had the skill to head the Bard's Guild, and took over without contest. She's run things since then, working with the heads of the other ruling guilds to ensure the city remains strong while also running her own guild smoothly. No one is quite sure how she does it, but they're grateful she can manage....
