Born in Kamaria, Mirthal's parents ran The Gilded Leaf all her life. She started helping out when she was old enough to walk; turning over the rooms, cleaning the baths, things of that nature. As she grew she learned how to serve customers and basically run the business, which served her well when The Collapse hit.

Her father was away on other business and perished in the calamity, and her mother began to fall apart over his loss. Barely a teenager now, Mirthal found herself running the inn pretty much on her own. Giving orders to the existing staff, finding new hires, taking care of pay and schedules and everything else while trying to care for her mother who was falling deeper and deeper into a depression.

Eventually her mother passed, and Mirthal wasn't sure if she should be sad or find it a relief that was one less thing she had to take care of. She threw herself into the work to of running the inn forget, now trying her best to make The Gilded Leaf one of the most respected places in Kamaria.
