Born and raised in the isolated dwarven city that is well known for producing some of the best blacksmiths in the world, Carol always wanted more for herself. She was never ever going to be as good as the best Helmfirth had to offer, but she could be better than the average person in the rest of the world. So she spent the better part of her life studying in her home to learn everything she could, then she left.

Heading south, Carol found herself at The Crystal River Academy and stayed there for a time. It was here that she met Nora and the two began to carry out a relationship. A lifetime later The Collapse happened and Carol was offered a job at The Adventurer's Guild to forge weapons for them. The pay was good and it was an offer she couldn't refuse, but it meant leaving Nora behind.

Carol urged Nora to return to her people to have a sense of friendship and community, and offered that they could stay in touch. So far that's an arrangement that's worked, and though Carol wishes more than anything she could have Nora with her she knows that if the selkie really wanted to she'd be there. Hopefully someday.
