Nora is one of many selkies living in Limunea, and like her kin she can shed her selkie coat and walk on land looking like any other race. There came a point where Nora preferred to be on land among those at the nearby The Crystal River Academy instead of among her own, and it was here that she met a dwarven woman named Carol Veinstrike - originally from Helmfirth, Carol wanted to strike out on her own and not be limited to the isolated dwarven village.

The two became fast friends with Carol not realizing what Nora really was, and as Carol was offered a job at The Adventurer's Guild to forge weapons for them she had to leave Nora behind. It was only then that Nora revealed herself, not wanting such important information unsaid. But Carol didn't care and accepted Nora for who she was, encouraging Nora to go back to her people and live among them while promising to keep in touch.

Since then the pair have had regular communication through letters, seeing each other only a handful of times but always knowing it's only a matter of time before they're together again...
