Born as the son of the Yukan family, Chikao was raised in Ochi, Kaze alongside his older sister Kiali, his mother Asuka, a professor, and his father Hanji, a well-known scientist.

When Chikao was 17, a Duskwing Syndicate Subjugation invaded Ochi in search of Hanji, triggering a battle between them and the Dawnwing Organization Liberators who appeared to defend them. The family was separated in the chaos, with Kiali vanishing while Chikao, Asuka, and Hanji fled across Kaze to the seaside town of Kyoshi. Without news from his sister, Chikao could only assume she had vanished in the invasion. However, in truth Kiali had been saved by the Duskwing Syndicate and joined them as Ashika’s Champion.

Despite this Chikao never gave up hope that his sister was still alive, and has since dedicated himself to becoming stronger so he could find her and reunite the family once more.
