Born and raised in Neyri's capital city of Qasar, Fatima was once a doctor in one of Neyri's oldest and most renowned hospitals. She was heavily involved in the Ash Blight Syndrome outbreaks that occurred during the Black Winter, especially when her older sister Setareh contracted the disease. As Fatima despaired over finding a cure, Dinesh came to her rescue and after much research turned Fatima's sister into a living weapon to fight the Aberrants called a kirin, thus effectively curing her. In gratitude Fatima willingly joined the Duskwing Syndicate – and Dinesh – to repay his kindness as well as to stay by her sister’s side.
