Genesys is driven by boredom. Having been raised in the lap of luxury, his life was rather bland. when he got to Andersh, he was recruited by Kim and finally found the lifestyle he wanted to live. Genesys enjoys the work Kim requires of him and lives for the thrill of a hunt and kill.

Of all of Kim's army, Genesys is the least emotionally invested in her cause. Genesys is really just along for the ride and the enjoyment of the chaos it causes along the way. Genesys can be very aloof and apathetic and this almost leads to him being a weak link if not for his immense power which makes up for the lack of dedication.

Despite his secluded and sheltered upbringing, Genesys is rather open-minded. He's accepting and friendly with all races save for humans, who he had grown to distrust during his travels through Andersh.

Genesys was raised by the Gorgons away from civilization but Genesys found sneaky ways of learning about the world of man. Despite not having a formal education, Genesys can think on his toes in a tight spot. He's no genius and can occasionally be foolish even, but he's not stupid either.

Genesys was born to his mother, Madusa, one of the three Gorgon sisters of Sarpedon Island. Along his travels across Gaea, Crowley seeked out Madusa, the most beautiful of the Gorgon sisters. He attacked their island, driving Stheno and Euryale away before kidnapping their youngest sister and taking her away on his ship. He proceeded to rape and impregnate her in search of his prophesied son. He kept her on his ship for the three months of her pregnancy, long enough for the baby to be born and to be determined whether it fit Crowley's ideals. The baby, Genesys, was born a girl and thus instantly disqualified. Knowing how secretive the Gorgons were, Crowley allowed the mother and her child to return to their island home alive before he set back out on his journey.

The sisters never thought they would have the opportunity to bear children as the Gorgons were only female and they didn't think it possible that a chimera birth would be sustainable. So when Madusa returned with Genesys in her arms, the women celebrated and doted on the child as she grew. But Genesys began to grow tired of his secluded life, feeling out of place in his own skin. He felt male despite being born female like the rest of his small family.

Growing increasingly tired of the island and more and more hungry for excitement, Genesys found ways of sneaking to nearby inhabited islands and observing human and otherworlder behavior. When he reached his late teens, Genesys took to the ocean and headed toward the country of Andersh, abandoning his family and spoiled upbringing. Shortly after arriving, Genesys crossed paths with Kim and he found with her the excitement he'd been wanting his whole life.
