Winter laughed a little bit. "Ah. Well, that's good. That it worked, and didn't explode." he replied with a slight shrug.
Winter laughed a little bit. "Ah. Well, that's good. That it worked, and didn't explode." he replied with a slight shrug.
"It is. Replacing that door would have been a hassle." Mycah shook their head. Now, they wanted to see what the news was. Checking in on whether people were looking for Mycah and Winter probably should have occurred sooner, but it had slipped their mind. "We should probably see if anyone knows that we killed Crin."
Winter took a deep breath. "Oh. Yes." he replied. "How…do you suggest we do that?" he asked, looking over at Mycah and raising an eyebrow.
"Uh… finding a newspaper would probably be the easiest way, but a TV or radio with a news broadcast would probably give us more information? Or looking on the internet." Mycah frowned. "But for now, we should probably aim towards the newspaper."
Winter nodded a little bit. "Right. So that sounds like we need to go into town. Again." he sighed, running his hands through his hair.
"Yeah…" Mycah pressed their lips together. If only they'd thought of this while they were out earlier. Alas, that was not the case. "Maybe we can find one of those boxes with the newspapers in them so we don't have to go into any stores."
Winter looked over at them, and nodded. "Right. That should work." he replied, looking over to the door. "We just have to be careful about it."
"Yeah." Mycah looked at Winter. "Shall we get going now?" They asked, glancing towards the door as well. Mycah hoped that they could find a newspaper quickly, and especially that they wouldn't have to go into a store for one.
Winter shrugged slightly. "I…don't know." he replied slowly, running a hand through his hair again. "Sure." he headed towards the door.
Mycah nodded and walked towards the door. They opened it, holding it for Winter. Mycah hoped that the news was good. Having people searching far and wide for them and Winter wouldn't be a good thing.
Winter headed outside, smiling at Mycah in thanks. He looked around after a moment, eyes scanning for any threats, any dangers.
Mycah walked to the street and started towards the main street. "Do you think they would have some newspapers at the motel we stayed at the first night?" They asked, frowning slightly.
Winter looked over at them, thinking. "I…don't know." He replied. "Maybe so."
"Well, it wouldn't hurt to try," Mycah decided, heading towards the motel. If there actually were newspapers there, that would save them both a trip back into the center of town.
Winter nodded, staying with Mycah as they walked along the streets. He closed his eyes for a moment.
Mycah turned into the motel parking lot, glancing around to make sure no one was looking at them in a funny way. Finding no one around, Mycah started towards the door of the motel office.
Winter followed after Mycah, eyes flashing around the area. "What would you like me to do?"
"Probably just watch out for anyone looking at us weird. And for newspapers or something like that." Mycah shrugged, opening the door and walking in. There wasn't anyone behind the counter, which meant they didn't have to interact with anyone just yet.
Winter nodded. "Alright." he replied, eyes still roaming around as he walked with Mycah. He didn't see anyone, which was a good sign.
Mycah glanced around the reception area. They spotted a couple of newspapers sitting on a table and walked over to them. The dates were a little old, but Mycah didn't see the harm in looking through them. They picked up one and started looking through it.
Winter picked up another, paging through it carefully, trying to find any information about Crin.
The newspaper Mycah had grabbed first appeared to be too late to have anything on Crin's death. They set it down and picked up another one. "Have you found anything yet?" They asked, looking over at Winter.
"No." he replied, setting his down and picking up another, flipping through it. "I…am a little worried."
"About what we might find?" Mycah asked, turning the page and scanning it. They hoped that they or Winter would find something in these, so they didn't have to buy anything.
Winter nodded. "Yes. I would rather not spend the rest of my life on the run, however long or short that may be."
