After years of fighting, the Civil War of Asavia had finally ended. The winners, known as the Alumi, promised to make everything better. The first thing they did was to ban the possession and use of magic since it was believed that magic had been the cause of a huge rash of unexplained deaths that had occurred before and during the war. This decision made most of the population very happy, but the small percentage of people with magic weren't thrilled. Days after the announcement was made, known magic-users started disappearing.

Mycah Harrow was one such magic-user, though they were a bit different than most. Their magic had, for the most part, been given to them by the Alumi– against their will, no less. But they still found themself being targeted by a group of ruthless assassins. These assassins were tasked by the Alumi to take out all the members of the elite squad of magic-users that Mycah had belonged to. Most of them had escaped, though they'd all been separated. Mycah didn't know if any of them had actually made it into the woods where they were camped out. They hoped so, but their focus was more on vengeance than anything at the moment. They didn't expect a potential ally to stumble into their camp in the middle of the night, that was for sure.

Rules, etc.

  • Andrew's rules, of course.

  • Please be active! If you have something going on– life can be weird– just let me know!

  • If you have any questions or want to suggest something plot-wise, ask/suggest away!

  • There is magic in this world, and I'd love it if your character had some sort of magic.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(lol okay! I like them! I don't have any premade characters that would fit, so I'ma do like a rough template? Also, do you have any predetermined ideas/guidelines for this RP, and who/what is my character?)

(Okay! Well, if your character should probably have magic or some connection to it. Probably a human, running away from the people trying to make them disappear. As for the RP, it's kinda open right now, moving generally towards the two of them doing something to stop the disappearances of all the magic people. Or something like that.)

(I think that's good! I'm just… the height difference is amazing. I love it. Anyways. Are you ready to begin?)

The night air was cool and still, the silence only broken by the crackling of the fire. It was a miracle that Mycah had actually found some dry wood after the downpour of rain earlier in the day. They scanned the forest around them, though they couldn't see much past the circle of light the fire cast. Hopefully, no one would sneak up behind them. Though, if they did, there was a good chance Mycah would be able to kill them. They probably had the upper hand: magical, illegal tattoos and years of training combined with the sheer fact that they didn't care anymore.

Winter was wandering through the woods. He didn't have any idea where he was going, and he couldn't really see all that well right now. The demon thing had done something to his eyes while it was in control, and now he could barely see where he was going.

Mycah threw another twig on the fire and sighed heavily. Had the assassins followed them into the woods? Had anyone else they knew made it out, or were they the only survivor? Mycah shook their head sharply, driving the thoughts from their mind. Thinking about those things would only drive them insane, and that was the last thing they needed. To distract themself, Mycah started humming one of their favorite songs. And the humming soon turned into singing softly, because they just couldn't help themselves. Let the assassins find them. Less work in the long run, anyways.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter heard singing, and followed the sound. Maybe whoever was singing could help him out? Fix his eyes, maybe. He was pretty sure that there was ink or juice or blood or something in them. He was pretty sure he wasn't permanently blind. Or at least, he hoped he wasn't. That would suck ass.

Mycah kept singing, resisting the urge to sing even louder. Even if they didn't care about the assassins finding them, they didn't want to purposely bring other creatures towards them. Fighting the wild animals in the forest didn't sound like a fun time. The first song ended and they started in on a second. Another look around their camp revealed nothing, though they couldn't be sure how correct that assessment was. Curse the fire, but it had either been fire or freezing to death in damp cloaths. They'd chosen the fire option, obviously.

He could see a blur of light, and hoped it was the source of the voice. "Hello?" he called. His voice was raw and scratchy, and for the first time he wondered what condition his clothes were in. If they were bloodspattered or torn or dirty. He didn't know.

"That was fast," Mycah muttered to themself, standing up and turning towards the voice. "Who's there?" They called into the darkness, straining their eyes for anything moving. It looked like there was something, but it might have just been a trick of the eye. Just in case they had to fight, Mycah held their arm towards the voice. They wouldn't kill them at once, but it was better to be prepared for the worse.
