Something I've been tossing around in my head. Wanted to share it here, maybe you guys can apply it in your writing. If you aren't already lmao.
The shy, but hyper analytical character, who needs time to approach things and observe every aspect of them, may be frozen in a situation which calls for action. And that's because of their analytical nature. They need to absorb what is going on and formulate a plan to deal with the situation.
If someone else is part of the equation, i.e. character 2 prompts character 1 to make a decision, this can further extend their processing time.
I can say from personal experience that it just happens. In a tense situation when I am pressured to make a decision, nine times out of ten this prompt makes it harder. It's like something gets cut off mentally, so in order to make any decision I just throw myself in a random direction and hope it works.
Edit: Would be really happy to read something along the same line for extroverts, I want to write some but don't have a lot of insight into their minds lol.
BRO I HAVE A CHARACTER LIKE THAT HIS NAME IS JACK, SHORT FOR JACK OF ALL TRADES BC HE THINKS AHEAD AND FIGURES OUT EVERY DETAIL. AND HE NEEDS TIME TO PREPARE FOR WHAT ROLE HE HAS TO TAKE ON. (For example, a spy? Give him a day. A dancer? Give him a week. A marksman? He’s done it enough times to have it down. Whatever you need done he can do it. He just has to process and find a way where it looks like he is a professional all the time.) AND HE’S GOING TO HAVE A MAJOR FREEZE MOMENT THAT COSTS HIS PARTNER HIS LIFE. (Rip Axion, may he rest in pieces…)
(My MC is also hyper analytical, but super extroverted and what I have it leading to is insomnia, intense bursts of productivity, burnout, and the idea that they’ve failed everyone bc they didn’t think of one possible outcome. Ya know the works.
Yeah the characters that line up with them, are let’s just say, traumatized. War does that to people 😂
This is really random but I re-read the fowl twins series, and the second is still my favorite. Also I’m still annoyed on the retcon of the fowls history with the fairy’s.
What do y’all think of those books.
Anyone here colorblind? What's that like?
Anyone here colorblind? What's that like?
I have family that are. What type of color blind? The red/green? The blue/yellow? Complete color blind? Also I have some weird thing going on. I’m not color blind, but there are days when I wake up and some colors are a lot brighter than others. Like I can see all the colors just fine, but a specific color is just really really screaming at me. Like a few days ago it was green, and it hurt to look at the trees and grass. I have a feeling it ties in with synesthesia. It’s cool tho.
Red-green color blindness is the most common type of color deficiency. Also known as deuteranopia, this is most likely a congenital condition, meaning that you're born with it. If you have this type of color blindness, you may have difficulty seeing different shades of red, green, and yellow.
There are 4 levels for red/green
Red-blind (protanopia) – Red can't be seen.
Green-blind (deuteranopia) – Green can't be seen.
Red-weak (protanomaly) – Some red is visible; green and blue are normal.
Green-weak (deuteranomaly) – Some green is visible; red and blue are normal.
There are 2 types of blue-yellow color blindness: Tritanomaly makes it hard to tell the difference between blue and green, and between yellow and red. Tritanopia makes you unable to tell the difference between blue and green, purple and red, and yellow and pink. It also makes colors look less bright.
Complete color blindness
Achromatopsia is a condition characterized by a partial or total absence of color vision. People with complete achromatopsia cannot perceive any colors; they see only black, white, and shades of gray. Incomplete achromatopsia is a milder form of the condition that allows some color discrimination.
I hope this answers some questions Sy! I just realized that I have an event to be at, at 7 am, and I am only going to get about 4 hours of sleep. So goodnight!

Does anyone else sit outside before a thunderstorm hits? It’s nice feeling the harsh winds right before it starts raining

I like to watch the lightning and listen to the thunder roll in before the weather really hits
I am slowly realizing writing a cover letter in French is the worst thing I've done in French class overall

I willingly sit outside before, during, and after a thunderstorm bc I feel like a deity when lightning strikes and thunder claps. I am my own being of the wind and rain and the thunder and lightning merely obey my command.

I loooove rain. To sit and watch the whole world turn grey under a sheet of water and listen to the slow roll of thunder…
And watch as the humans run screaming for cover with their arms thrown over their heads. Mwuahaha.

I like this. Watching chaos unfold and you didn’t even cause it. Noice.

One of my favorite forms of entertainment.
When I was younger, I fell face first into a cactus.
Have a nice day!

Epic
Really is. Birdie ended up eating like, perhaps forty peanuts.
A customer told my section manager that I was doing an awesome job today! 😁
