@ElderGod-Icefire

Arin didn't speak to him. Ryke was doing much better, but she couldn't bring the bear to this meeting; that would just lead to too much trouble.

@PrettyLittlePyro

“Now that we’re all here,” the chief said, “let’s start. We have our people infiltrating the castle. They sent a message saying that they were ready when we were. So, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to go about this?”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Arin took in a breath, but stayed quiet. She knew that she didn't really know much of what to do about all this, so she didn't want to interrupt.

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Do you have a preference of how many people you take?" The Chief asked. "And if they have any abilities or not? Because I want to know how many people to organize to bring."

@ElderGod-Icefire

She thought about that for a moment. "I think it depends on how many people you already have inside the castle." she said slowly. "And on how easily you expect to win."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"We have around three dozen people in the castle right now, of all ranks," he said. "Most of them are normal trained spies, but there are a few who can use some sort of ability." He paused. "We might try to make a distraction at the gate, while the others try to kill the king and queen."

@ElderGod-Icefire

(there's no queen right now, as Jacos's plan was to have Arin brought to the palace and marry her, thus legitimatizing his reign)

Arin nodded a little bit. "Alright." she said slowly, trying to figure out what to do.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(lol)

She frowned faintly. "I'm not sure. A quiet takeover might be easier, but it would raise questions." She had no idea what to do, in all honesty.

@PrettyLittlePyro

"We need to make sure Jacos is caught, and all who are loyal to him are no longer threats," Kade said, rolling his eyes in her direction. "You could send some warriors with her, to protect her, with some other teams as other distractions, so the spies can deal with Jacos and his men quickly and quietly."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Arin let out a faint breath. "That'll work. Although Jacos can't be killed. He needs…his death needs to be a public occasion, otherwise people can and will use it against us."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Is he allowed to be tortured before he's killed? Does he necessarily have to be executed all in one piece?" A man asked. He was rough, covered in scars, and looked ruthless.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Arin frowned faintly. "No. His death needs to be a public spectacle, and if he shows up for execution already bloody and beaten, then we will look like the bad guys."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"But he deserves it," the man said, frustrated. "Who cares about how we look? In order to defeat him, we've had to do many horrible things. I don't want this to be a waste of all our time, energy, and power."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"It won't be a waste." She snapped. "Don't you fucking get it? If he shows up for execution bleeding and beaten and hurt, then that makes me look like a bad ruler. It turns him into a martyr for anyone else who would want to undertake his cause, and in a few years, there would be a new rebellion cropping up in his name."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Arin clenched her jaw. "Let's also think of foreign policy." She replied. "If other countries see us beating former leaders before executing them, it could be bad."

@PrettyLittlePyro

(That is beautiful!)
"It's not like it's spectacular right now," the man snapped back. "No one is on the throne, there's practically a civil war, and the current ruler is a bloodthirsty dictator."

@PrettyLittlePyro

(She's adorable.)

"Is it?" The man sounded frustrated. He glanced at the other members, as if to say can you believe her? Surprisingly, Kade was the one who glared sharply at him.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(thanks!)

"Yes, it is. Frankly, it's a little disquieting that your thirst for revenge has so blinded you to the consequences of your actions." she said, a hint of what she could have been coming through in her voice. A hint of how, with the proper schooling, she could have been an unstoppable queen. Now, with only rudimentary knowledge that didn't even include the ability to read, she was making do with what she was able to do.
