Arin didn't look at Kade again, her lip curling faintly with dislike for the man.

(Both of us are just adding random stuff that doesn't make any sense, because we're too lazy to add more details lol)
There was the sound of a ringing bell. Kade looked around, and then realized that it was a summoning bell. It was time to go, then. With a sigh, he pushed off from the wall and made his way over to where the chief was surrounded by other leaders.
(lmao basically)
Arin moved, heading over to the chief as well. She was quiet, though, not really speaking, just listening.
(Time to try and force myself to get out details………………………….. AAAAAAAAAGH lmao)
"You all know what we have to do today," the Chief said. He looked around at everyone there, and Kade rolled his eyes. Here comes the great speech. "This is the opportunity we've all been waiting for. We can do this. If we fail, not only will we lose years of progress, we will lose many, many good men. So we can't fail." Is this supposed to be encouraging? Kade wondered.
Out of habit, he glanced at Arin out of the side of his eye, to see her reaction to all this bullshit being spewed. (not unlike what I'm writing…)
"This time, we have someone that can help us. We have the real ruler of the country, the Queen Arin!" The Chief extended his hand to her. "Come on stage," he invited.
(lmaoo)
Arin blinked, but came up onstage, holding onto the battle-axe carefully, not wanting to drop it or accidentally hurt anyone. She gave the chief a tight smile, clearly uncomfortable at being onstage like this.
The Chief chuckled awkwardly, clearly not expecting her to be holding a weapon when she went on. He attempted to ignore it, and smiled warmly at her. "My dear, would you like to give a few words?"
Arin blinked at him, clearly not expecting to be asked to speak. She also had zero ideas what she was supposed to say in this situation. So she stared out at the crowd as she frantically tried to think of something to say.
Kade watched, and a sneer grew on his face. This woman was hilarious, acting all brave one minute, but failing at inspirational speeches. He watched with growing amusement as the Chief, who was better at fighting than speaking to a crowd, grew visibly more uncomfortable.
Arin's eyes caught on Kade, and she glared at him for a moment. "I…" She trailed off, frowning a little, then taking a deep breath. "We can do this."
Kade smirked at her glare. He offered a slow, mocking clap, which was taken up by the rest of the people there, albeit more genuine. There were cheers of "Hail Queen Arin!" and other such nonsense, and the Chief looked relieved. He clapped his hands for silence. "Let's go!" He called.
Arin looked relieved as well, making her way off the stage about as quick as she could, looking like shed already been through half a battle. It was a pity, really, that such an inexperienced girl as being thrown into a battle she had no hope of winning.
"That was very inspirational," Kade said, making his way toward her, a familiar smirk on his face. "Really makes the people excited."
(Do we time skip?)
Arin made a face at him. "Leave me alone." She snapped, shaking her head at him.
"What?" He asked innocently, falling into place behind her. As the Golden Hunter, he made for an intimidating presence, and behind the Queen, it made for an encouraging sight. It didn't really mean anything, not really, but he needed all the support he could get, especially since there were those who still doubted his loyalty.
"Asshole." She hissed under her breath, holding onto the axe and making her way with the crowd.
"I know." He just smiled and followed.
(Should we do a time skip, to the actual attack?)
(yeah! Or maybe even after? Idk I'm not good at RPing large-scale battle scenes lmao)
(Yeah, me neither… I like that idea! Should we skip to after the battle, when they're coming for survivors? Maybe she was injured enough to not be able to retreat?)
(lmao sure! Yeah probably, maybe she got like, hit and passed out or something?)
(Sure, I like that idea! Do you want to start it or do you want me to?)
(mm idc, up to you)
(Um… I'll let you do it, so you can explain what happens to her a little bit)
(alright!)
Arin, as expected, had not done overly well in the fight. Ryke had been kept back from the battle, back at camp. Arin had done her best, but without any formal training, it hadn't taken long before some soldier managed to catch her in the side of the head, knocking her out cold and sending her down, lying on the ground on the battlefield, as the battle raged around her and the rebellion slowly lost. By the time she came to, the battlefield was being picked over in search of wounded.
The rebellion, the storming of the castle, had failed. Miserably. Kade had known that the leadership was lacking - not that he had planned to do anything about it - but this big of a failure was something even he hadn't predicted.
He stood on the ramparts of the palace, watching the battle. Well, the annihilation, really. It was a one-sided massacre, with the rebellion losing quite badly. Already hundreds of bodies lay on the ground in front of the place, blood making the dirt muddy and unpleasant, causing more than one person to slip. He hadn't seen the princ- queen, he reminded himself, in a long time. It was more than a little worrying.
He had slipped away from his team, to go to Jacos, because he couldn't be expected to show that he was a traitor, in case this failed. He couldn't have his cover blown. Also, he had never been good at staying in one group, one side, and would always go to the winners.
Jacos came up next to him. "I told you to get the princess," he said quietly.
"I did," Kade said, not bothering to be polite. He motioned down to the carnage below. "She's somewhere down there. I don't see her bear, and so I don't know where she is."
"You fool!" The hit came so fast, he almost didn't expect it. Blinding pain raced along the side of his face, rocking him back slightly. "If she had been killed-"
"-then you can just act sad, like you didn't know this would happen, and formally declare yourself king." Kade kept his voice calm and even. He spit out a mouthful of blood, trying not to let the anger sparking beneath his skin show, and looked at Jacos. "If she dies, there will be work to do, yes, but it will only put you back a little bit. She isn't dead, though. You gave orders to your soldiers, remember? She's too valuable to kill."
"Yes," Jacos mused, going back to look at the battle. It was almost over, now. He waved over one of the guards on the wall next to them. "Round up the survivors. Find the princess. Kill any who slow you down, and burn the dead."
The guard bowed. "Of course, sire."
Arin sat up slowly as the king's guards picked through the dead and dying. She pressed a hand to her head, hazy and uncertain about what was going on around her. The guards soon found her, recognizing her from the description they had been given. Before she could quite process what was going on, she had been grabbed, her hands tied behind her back, and her axe confiscated. They brought her back to the king. Blood had dried along her temple, where she had been hit. A bruise, too, marred her skin. She squirmed and struggled against their grips, but couldn't break it.
"Here you are, your majesty. The princess, as requested." One guard said, pushing her forward slightly.
Jacos's eyes raked over Arin, taking her in. "I see. A bit dirty and bloody, but we can clean her up." He stepped closer, taking her chin in his hand. She pulled her head away, glaring at him through narrowed eyes.
"Don't touch me." She growled, snapping at his fingers like a wild animal..
He frowned, then laughed. He turned to Kade. "You didn't tell me she was so vicious and illmannered." He said, frowning again. "But, I suppose I can work with it. After all, it will look quite well, for the king to tame his bride into something more…palatable."
