"Which one? Killing me?" Nik retorted, eyes flashing as he glared up at Derlik. Smoke mewed worriedly, looking between the two.
"Which one? Killing me?" Nik retorted, eyes flashing as he glared up at Derlik. Smoke mewed worriedly, looking between the two.
Derlik frowned a little. He held Smoke close again.
"I was thinking more of… The other one." The one where he raped Nik.
Nik balled his hands into fists to hide the way they were shaking. He clenched his jaw, glaring up at Derlik. Smoke squirmed a little, looking between the two.
Derlik gently placed one hand on Smoke's head, wishing to calm him.
"I'm not asking much of you," he said, calmer himself now. "Just to treat Smoke nicely, whether in this form or his normal one."
"I never said I wouldn't, asshole." Nik spat.
"No, you just snapped at me, and I'm doing my damn best not to get angry, for Smoke's sake, but I'm close to snapping myself." Derlik glared at Nik, arms still lightly around Smoke. He wanted Smoke to like him more than he wanted to hurt to Nik, but that balance was slowly tipping.
Smoke let out a quiet, worried sound. Nik glared up at him. "Fuck. Off." He snapped.
"Make. Me." Derlik leaned forward a bit, holding Smoke a bit tighter now. He was getting pissed, and pretty soon he was going to have to… Let Smoke take a little nap.
Smoke squirmed, looking up at Derlik and Nik fearfully. Nik clenched his hands into fists.
Derlik raised an eyebrow.
"You don't want to challenge me, Nik."
"Yeah, and why not? You're the asshole who kidnapped me." Nik spat.
"Maybe, but I'm also a fucking god." Derlik growled softly.
"Doesn't mean you aren't also an asshole." He retorted.
"Never said I wasn't." Derlik growled a little again, setting Smoke to the side.
Smoke let out another worried sound, not wanting either of them to get hurt. His tail was fluffed up with anxiety, his ears pinned back against his head.
Derlik glanced at Smoke, forcing himself to take a long breath. He pulled back from Nik, have folded in his lap.
Nik clenched his jaw, looking away and into the forest around them.
That might not have been such a good idea. Looking into the forest, it would become apparent there were… Things watching them. Derlik let out a faint breath, patting Smoke's head.
Nik's eyes widened a little bit when he saw the shapes, drawing into himself a little bit.
Derlik raised an eyebrow, looking out. He scoffed a bit.
"Those re just my underlings, minor gods who serve me. I would suggest getting used to it." And familiar shape stepped out from the trees- the wolf from before, Twili.
Nik glared at him for a moment. "Piss off." he grumbled. His eyes caught on Twili, and he bit his lip. Smoke still seemed anxious, ears flattened to his skull.
Derlik looked over, a idea smile coming to his face.
"Twili! Comere, girl!" He motioned for Twili to come, which she did quietly. She set her head in Derlik's lap, giving Nik a sad look. Derlik patted Twili's glad with one hand and Smoke's with the other.
Nik was silent, watching the three for a moment, then looked away again. Smoke shifted, tail twitching anxiously.
Twili slowly pulled away from Derlik, going over to Nik. She saw just how upset he had been, and settled her head next to him. Derlik let out a breath, turning to Smoke. He gently raised both his hands to his forehead, holding him gently.
"It's okay," he said softly, "relax." His voice was soft, the command gentle.
Nik looked down at her, biting his lip anxiously. Smoke's shoulders sagged a little as he relaxed, looking up at Derlik.
