Nik took in a shuddering breath. "I-I…" he shrugged his shoulders a little bit.
Nik took in a shuddering breath. "I-I…" he shrugged his shoulders a little bit.
"If you can't think of a reason, then there's no reason why I shouldn't then." Derlik moved closer to Nik again, reaching out for his chin.
"Well earlier you said you weren't going to." Nik pointed out, flinching away from Derlik.
"I changed my mind," Derlik purred, his voice deep and dangerous.
Nik shrugged. "Then kill me." He replied, looking down at Smoke. "Saves me the trouble of finding something to do it myself."
"But that would be no fun, I'd just have to get you a new body then." Derlik took Nik's chin in his hands again.
"It's not like you dying will let you escape from me. I own you, now and forever."
Nik flinched away from Derlik's hands, still clinging to Smoke. "Well fuck you." he snarled.
"We can, if you want to." He grabbed Nik by the hair, pulling him close. He trailed a finger along Nik's jaw.
Nik really flinched that time, arching away from Derlik's hands. "D-don't." he said, shaking. "Don't, please."
"Tell me why I shouldn't," Derlik insisted. "Tell me why I shouldn't do it right now. Tell me why I shouldn't turn you into a sex doll, or a butt plug, or a condom. Tell me why, and I won't." Derlik didn't let Nik pull away, gripping his hair tightly and pulling him close.
Nik was trembling, tears pricking at his eyes as he bit his lip, trying to think of a reason that maybe this god would accept. "I-I…" he clung to Smoke still, swallowing faintly. "B-because I'll h-hate you forever? A-and I-I l-left that…I-I left b-being a…prostitute behind f-for a reason…I…" he was on the edge of tears and it was oh so obvious in his voice.
Derlik had no intention of actually doing anything to Nik. Still, he needed Nik to learn a lesson. And if Nik admitted there was no reason not to, well… That wasn't a no, then.
"You'll hate me forever anyway, won't you." It wasn't a question. "If you tell me the reason, then I won't. But you need to tell me." He took Nik's head in one hand, cupping his cheek.
Nik shook his head a little bit. I can't. Why would he tell Derlik that if he had to go through something like that again, he was sure he would break? He knew the god would only see that as an encouragement, knew that his own feelings and fragile mental health wouldn't seem like a good reason, and he didn't have any other.
"Nik," Derlik said quietly. It was almost as if he was back to before, back to being gentle. "It's okay. No matter what the reason is, if you tell me, I swear I won't do anything to you. But you have to tell me, Nik."
"It wouldn't even matter to you anyway, so who gives a shit?" Nik snapped, not looking at Derlik and trying so hard not to cry. "You've already made it very clear that you don't give a rat's ass about me, so why would my reasons matter?"
"They matter because I say they do," Derlik said sternly. "But if you keep acting like this, I'll just go ahead and do it anyway. Is that what you want? Do you want me to fuck you?"
Nik shook his head vehemently at that question. "N-no!" he said quickly. "No, I-I don't…"
"Then tell me why you stopped." Derlik looked down at Nik, daring him not to.
"I-I only started because I didn't…I didn't have any other choice." he said quietly, not looking at Derlik. "I-it's not like I wanted to s-sell…sell myself to anyone that w-wanted…" he shook his head a little bit.
"So you finally had a chance to stop, so you took it?" Derlik saw how hard it was for Nik to talk right now.
He nodded slightly, still not meeting the god's eyes. He had no idea if that was reason enough, if that would stop Derlik from doing anything.
"Okay then," Derlik said gently. "I said I wouldn't do anything if you told me, so I won't." Derlik moved away from Nik, looking bored now.
Nik shifted to curl in on himself again, Smoke still in his arms. The kitten squirmed a little bit, and Nik released him. Smoke jumped down onto the ground, mewing softly.
Derlik looked down at Smoke, a bit annoyed he didn't know what the kitten was saying. So, he just reached down and turned Smoke into a human.
Smoke blinked up at him, seated cross-legged on the ground. He touched his ears with his fingers, blinking at Derlik and then at Nik.
