@ElderGod-Icefire
Smoke cocked his head. "What job?"
Smoke cocked his head. "What job?"
"Ah… I think Nik should be the one to decide whether to tell you about that or not." Derlik patted Smoke's head, glad for the company.
Smoke blinked. "I don't understand." he said, eyebrows pulling together.
"You will eventually," Derlik promised. He sighed softly.
Smoke frowned, watching Derlik uncertainly.
"What's wrong?" Derlik asked, seeing how Smoke looked at him.
"I don't understand what's going on." Smoke replied, blinking innocently.
Derlik gave a small laugh.
"That's alright. Sometimes I don't either," Derlik admitted quietly.
Smoke frowned. "But you're a god."
"Just because I'm a God doesn't mean I'm perfect," Derlik explained.
"I didn't say it did, but…" Smoke shook his head a little bit, not understanding.
"I can't know everything, Smoke," Derlik explained. "No one does."
Smoke hummed faintly.
Derlik started to pet Smoke again, smiling softly as Nik slept.
Smoke leaned into the touch, purring happily.
Derlik pulled Smoke onto his lap, rubbing his back.
Smoke squirmed a little bit, pressing close to Derlik and purring happily.
Derlik smiled gently, scratching Smoke's head and back.
Smoke leaned into the touches, purring.
Derlik rubbed Smoke's back now with his thumbs, doing this as he thought of what to do with Nik now.
Smoke purred loudly, leaning into the touch.
Finally, Derlik released his hold over Nik's mind. If he woke up, so be it. He knew what he would do. He continued to basically massage Smoke, smiling softly.
Smoke kept purring and leaning into Derlik's hands.
Derlik grinned, holding Smoke close as he rubbed the kitten.
Smoke kept purring and pressing into Derlik's hands. Nik stirred a little bit, starting to wake up.
