Nik nodded a little. "Thank you, Twili." he said softly.
Nik nodded a little. "Thank you, Twili." he said softly.
Twili nodded again. She put her board away, moving towards the water.
Nik followed her after a moment, quiet.
Twili say by the water, dipping her bare feet in.
"It had healing properties. The water."
Nik looked at her. "It does?" he asked, sitting down but not submerging his feet yet.
Twili nodded.
"It's my job to watch over it and make sure no one uses it in the wrong ways."
"Oh." he said softly, running his hands through his hair.
"If… You ever need to, you're always welcome to use these waters." Twili didn't say why, but it was obvious. If Derlik ever truly hurt him, which could very well happen.
Nik nodded a little bit. "Okay. Thank you." he said softly.
Twili gave a small, sad smile. She swished her feet in the water a moment, looking at it.
Nik put his feet in the water, closing his eyes for a moment.
The water was warm, surprisingly. Twili laid down on the grass, hands on her stomach and feet in the water.
Nik looked up at the sky quietly, kicking his feet.
Twili twirled her hair in her fingers a moment. After a while, she sat straight up.
"Derlik is on his way," she wrote out quickly.
Nik frowned a little. "Oh." He said simply.
Twili fidgeted a bit, looking nervous. She obviously didn't like Derlik coming here. Derlik stepped into the clearing behind them, carrying a now cat Smoke.
Nik hunched into himself a little bit once he saw Derlik, biting his lip.
Derlik smiled a bit, making his way over. Twili stayed by by Nik's side, offering comfort.
Nik didn't look at Derlik, keeping his gaze on the water.
Derlik sat down next to Nik, lightly petting Smoke. Twili obviously didn't like Derlik being here. This was her place.
Nik shifted away a little bit, not looking at the God.
Derlik hummed a little, slipping his feet into the water. He dipped one finger in, flicking the water at Nik.
Nik flicnhed back, glaring at him for a moment.
Derlik rolled his eyes.
"Why so uptight?" Derlik gently pet Smoke, hand still a little wet.
Smoke hissed a little at the touch of a wet hand, arching slightly. Nik clenched his jaw, but didn't respond.
