Jade smiled at him. ”Well, not everyone can pull off the cape look. There is a reason I don't wear one.” she shook her head. ”If you could find an excuse, people would say you stole that from me but I'm glad you had fun.”
Killian laughed softly. "I know. And hey, who said I was done?" he picked her up easily, putting her down on the board and having her stand in front of him, his hands resting lightly on her hips to steady her as he got it moving again.
Jade gasped in surprise as he positioned her on the board but didn't fight. Instead, she focused on keeping the board balanced. She did make it capable of carrying a passenger but since she didn't have people over, finding a partner to help out was a bit difficult.
Killian grinned, going slower than he had been so that it wouldn't tip over and spill them both out onto the ground. "You alright?" he asked softly, still holding onto her carefully.
”Yes.” she nodded. ”It’s just my first time on this with someone else.” Jade smiled at him leaning forward just a bit to add a little more speed.
Killian nodded. "Alright." he grinned, steering the hover board around the room. He kept holding onto her so she wouldn't fall. Or at least, that was the excuse he told himself.
Jade normally had great balance on her own, she had actually done a loop-de-loop on the board before, but she didn't object to his help. There was something comforting about his gentle steadying touch. It made her wonder again why he became a villain. Since last night she had seen so much about him that fit the more admirable characteristics of a hero. She wasn't going to ask him about his choice. It was his business and their earlier conversations hinted that it was a painful part of his past, so she would leave it alone.
Killian chuckled softly as they went. He reached out a hand and brushed his fingers against the walls as they came close to the wall. His other hand still rested lightly on Jade to help her. "Hmm. I wanna take it outside." he remarked, looking around. "Or would you rather I didn't?" he raised an eyebrow.
Jade smirked. ”Let’s at least grab our masks first so it doesn't look like a kidnapping or something.” she teased. ”And neither of us will have to worry about our identities ending up on the news.” She didn't want to imagine what kind of havoc that would bring on their lives.
Killian laughed softly, and brought the hoverboard back down. He grabbed her mask, handing it to her. He was still wearing his, having not taken it off earlier. "I don't know, the news might find it amusing that I kidnapped you on your own hoverboard." he laughed again.
Jade laughed with him at the idea. ”The news would love that story, but I’d have to explain myself to the other heroes about my security system and how you managed it.” she sighed as she put on her helmet. ”Some might even take the opportunity to belittle my skills as a hero.”
Killian chuckled. "Ah, I see." he replied. "Now how do we get out of here?" he asked, looking around the room. "Do we have to take the elevator? With a hoverboard?"
Jade shook her head. ”No, we don't need the elevator but if you head us over towards that panel, ” she pointed at the specific one, ”I can open a ramp in the backyard and we can go straight into the sky.”
Killian nodded, and guided the hoverboard up to the panel. "There." he said, not looking back down at the fall towards the ground, and keeping his eyes fastened instead upon the ceiling.
Jade brushed her fingers against the panel and almost immediately a section of the ceiling opens revealing the clear sky as a metal ramp unfolds giving a steady exit for a bike. But as the hoverboard could go quite high they didn't really need the ramp.
Killian grinned, and guided the hoverboard out and up, as high as he could go. He peeked down at the ground, and he unconsciously pulled Jade closer as he looked down. He blinked, refocusing on what was near him, and grinned.
Jade was smiling broadly under her helmet, trying not to vocalize her enjoyment at the moment. She had learned very early on in her career to limit what sounds she made since the voice modifier made some sound… way too weird. She raised a brow and looked over her shoulder when Killian pulled her closer. ”Everything ok back there?”
"I looked down." he replied, voice slightly strained for a moment. "I'd forgotten how much I hate heights." he dipped the board lower, taking them closer to the ground.
”Oh!” Jade made a mental note of that, more out of habit than anything else. ”Well, the bracelet is also a safety measure against falling. It’ll trigger the board to catch you if you fall higher than a single story building height. But I thought you flew to the top of a twenty-story building before.” she commented
"Ah." he sighed. "I have. I just…didn't look down." he shrugged slightly, pushing the board as fast as it could go. "Sorry. I'm not going to explain. I just don't like heights. I can do them, I just get back down as quickly as possible."
Jade nodded understanding the situation and placed her hand over his in reassurance. ”I’m actually claustrophobic but I’ve had to crawl through more than a few air vents for rescue and infiltration missions.” she told him at a volume only he would hear.
Killian blinked slowly. "…oh." he replied. "Wow. I…did not know that. Also are you sure it's safe for you to tell me all that? I may be helping you now, but I'm still technically your enemy."
Jade smiled. ”We may be but I trust you. Why do you think I came to you in the first place?” she assured, fully convinced that there was a good man in him. One who had most likely been hurt before but… it didn't change her opinion of him. ”Besides, I never said it was crippling claustrophobia.” she said with an audible smirk, going back to playful teasing.
Killian shrugged slightly, then chuckled. "Ah, that's true. You didn't." he grinned. "And I never said my fear of heights was, either." he shrugged again, pushing the hoverboard even faster.
Jade bit her lip to stifle a soft chuckle as she leaned forward as well, urging the board to a speed to match that of a normal motorcycle. She couldn't remember the last time she genuinely had this much fun with anyone. She almost felt… normal.
