"Hey, I wasn't describing my family jewels!" Killian replied, sitting down and crossing his legs. He chuckled softly.
"Hey, I wasn't describing my family jewels!" Killian replied, sitting down and crossing his legs. He chuckled softly.
”And I never said I was describing my… Anyway, you were the one who was considering showing them off.” Jade reminded him, shaking her head. ”Can we please change the subject?” she almost begged.
"Was not! I have more modesty than that!" Killian stuck out his tongue childishly. "Fine." He replied, crossing his arms loosely. "Now what?"
Jade sighed and leaned back into her chair. ”I'm not sure.” she admitted. ”Do you have any ideas?”
Killian shook his head. "No, not really." he replied, looking at her. "Sorry."
Jade nodded. ”It’s okay.” she replied brushing aside his apology. ”I just hate when I hit a wall like this.” It's not really a solid wall but… I don't want to think about that possibility.
Killian nodded. "You have no other ideas?" he asked, looking at her and trying to figure out what else he could do to help figure this out.
”Well, I'm no Sherlock Holmes but I always have ideas.” Jade sighed. ”The problem is some of these ideas are just ridiculous and I shouldn't even bother with them.”
Killian chuckled, and nodded. "Alright…" he trailed off. "What if…hm." he looked at the computer carefully. "Could you do a database search and try to match people to the video?"
Jade nodded. ”I could but it would take a while for the computer to match all of them… from this frame.” she quickly spun to the computer and started typing determinedly. ”But, if I go to the footage closer to the actual attack, there weren't any civilians around by then.” she explained, as she often did night patrols for a couple of hours.
Killian nodded. "Alright. While you do that, I'm going to look around." He replied, walking around the room again and looking around at everything. He linked his hands behind his back again so as not to touch anything.
”Ok, just be careful. This might still take a while.” Jade warned as she continued clicking on the keyboard.
The Den was actually not very high-tech itself, just the projects and some of the equipment. Most of it was actually repurposed from other standard everyday stuff… Probably the prototypes considering the aesthetic Jade used for her heroine persona.
"I know." Killian replied simply, examining things. He looked at something. "Hey! Hey, can I touch this, or will it kill me?" he asked, hands already held out and hovering just above the said object.
Jade turned her head to look at the object in question. ”That should be safe enough to handle, since you can fly.” she nodded. ”It's a hoverboard prototype. Once I finalize a few things and make sure there are no more bugs or glitches I plan to transfer the technology to Sparky.” she explained.
"Ohh cool!" Killian picked it up, looking at it curiously. "Can I try it out?" He asked, glancing over at her. His eyes were a bright green again.
Jade shrugged. ”I guess so. Just don't crash it into anything. It works like a skateboard. Lean the way you want to go.” she pointed to a bracelet on the table nearby. ”You’ll need that to gain or lower your altitude.”
Killian nodded, and set the board down, putting the bracelet on. He gingerly got on the hover board, wobbling a little until he learned to keep his balance.
Jade chuckled as he tried to balance on the floor. ”You have to turn it on first. You just have to touch the symbol in front of your leading foot.” she instructed.
"Ohh." He turned it on, wobbling as it started up. "Okay."
The board gave a light thrum of power as it activated and slowly rose a foot in the air, wobbling slightly as it’s rider did.
Jade let the program on the monitor run as she watched Killian carefully, wanting to make sure both would be ok after.
Killian's eyes flickered, and he grinned wolfishly as he began to learn how to use the board, going slowly at first. As he got the hang of it, he began to speed up, still grinning.
Jade smiled as Killian got better at using the board. ”You’re a natural.” she called out. A small part of her almost wished he would swoop down and ”kidnap” her from the desk but she needed to be here to switch between the criminal, civilian and her… personal database.
Killian grinned, swooping around the room. The cape whipped around in the wind he had created as he moved, and he let out a whoop, enjoying himself thoroughly.
Jade smiled softly as she continued to watch, laughing a little with his enjoyment. There was something… almost charming about his exuberance and the devil-may-care smirk he often wore… He was a very dashing villain. She doubted he knew but every hero had a fan following and even a few villains, including him, had one as well.
Killian swooped down, hovering near her. "I love this thing!" He exclaimed with a laugh. "Although I'm not sure I could find an excuse to use it on a regular basis." He grinned, then took off his cape, setting it down. "That was starting to annoy me." He remarked as it fell to the floor.
