Jade covered her face with her hands as she laughed a little embarrassed. ”No, stop. I wasn't asking for an explanation.” she said very red-faced. ”Oh my God, Hex! Are you really that tactless?”
Jade covered her face with her hands as she laughed a little embarrassed. ”No, stop. I wasn't asking for an explanation.” she said very red-faced. ”Oh my God, Hex! Are you really that tactless?”
Killian laughed. "Yes I am." He said, flopping down on the couch. "And hey, at least i didn't like…show you. Even I have more decency than that." He smirked, still laughing.
”You perv! You thought about it!” Jade accused knowingly. ”I’m half tempted to make you run now. But I can't have you knowing where my Den is, so you lucked out of getting some exercise.” she sighed.
Killian grinned. "Nah." he replied, rolling onto his stomach and looking over at her. "Whaaat? I wouldn't run. I would fly or something. Use magic to propel myself."
”Of course you would.” Jade rolled her eyes playfully as her helmet gave two short chirps, like those of a car alarm arming. ”Sounds like our ride is here. You coming or are you actually going to fly?” she asked sliding her helmet on but leaving the visor up.
Kilian chuckled, and rolled into a standing position. "I'll ride. I promise no inappropriate behavior on my part." he smirked.
”Good to hear.” Jade smiled and gave a small nod as she opened the door. The bike followed her usual hi-tech motif; mostly black, sleek and handmade for maneuverability but there was still room for a passenger on the back.
Killian followed her. Once she was out, he locked the door, tucking the key in an inner pocket, then followed her to the bike. He let out a low whistle. "Oh, wow." he said, admiring it. "Sweet ride." he commented, grinning.
“Thank you. Made it myself, with few modifications.” Brainwave’s electronic voice replied, holding a note of pride as she climbed on fluidly. She double-checked that the passenger mode was turned on and lowered the visor. ”Ready to see what my place looks like?” she smirked even though he couldn't see it.
Killian grinned, and climbed on behind her, putting his arms around her waist. "If anyone sees us, I'm in trouble." was his only response. He chuckled softly.
Jade bit her lip to keep from laughing but she gave a brief nod as she revved the engine. ”Then I’ll try to make this a fast ride.” she assured. ”In the meantime, keep your head down and hold on tight.” she warned before taking off quickly.
Killian sighed, and buried his face in her shoulder. "That far enough down, or should I go lower?" he asked, voice muffled and shaking with laughter.
Jade didn't verbally reply to his joke but she did smile as she wove effortlessly through traffic. Seeing a stoplight ahead, she flipped a switch near her thumb.
//All green ahead.//
Killian kept his arms around her waist and his face against her shoulder.
It took a few minutes even with her override on the lights before they arrived in an abandoned neighborhood near the warehouse district. Jade flicked a special light in her headlight, triggering a garage door to open. She slowed down and pulled in. ”We’re here.”
Killian sat up, looking around curiously. "Okay." he replied, arms still around her waist as he looked around. He smiled, stretching a little. "That was uncomfortable. I don't like being hunched over like that." he grimaced.
”Sorry about that, but it was necessary if you didn't want to be noticed.” Jade reminded him as she dismounted and walked over to the fuse box. ”You may want to stay near the bike.” she cautioned as she turned on a couple of breakers. There was a soft whir of machinery as a small square of the garage floor rumbled before lowering.
Killian chuckled, climbing off the bike and stretching. "But why?" he asked. "This is my chance to explore my mortal enemy's secret lair." he protested, grinning in an almost manic way.
”First of all, it's my Den.” Jade retorted as she removed her helmet. ”And secondly, you're on an elevator. My Den is below us.” she explained as she walked over to stand next to him. ”Did you really think I used the house?”
Killian wrinkled his nose. "Secret lair sounds better." He replied. "And no, I didn't." He leaned against the bike.
Jade rolled her eyes and stepped on the platform under the bike as it started descending at a steady pace. Once they were clear a replacement slab fit itself into the empty space they left. The elevator went past the normal basement level and into a moderately large sized open room with a couple of monitors ahead, the center one was the biggest, there was a well-organized workbench with a lot of tools and diagrams, even a welding torch, and a few projects in various stages of completion. ”Be careful what you touch.” she warned
"Why? Will they explode?" He asked with a grin. "Or poison me? Or otherwise kill me? Or do you just not want me messing with your stuff?" he looked at her with a smirking grin.
Jade smirked. ”Nothing will poison you, or at least shouldn't but everything else is possible.” she admitted. ”Some of this stuff needs more work and a certain touch if you want to keep your limbs.” she clarified as she placed her helmet and gloves aside.
"So it does explode!" he said, sounding happier about that than he should. He started to walk around the room, clasping his hands behind his back to repress the urge to touch things. He looked a lot like a child in a candy store. Well, except for how he was dressed.
Jade held back a small laugh at his excitement. ”It does happen every once in a while even if it's not supposed to.” she admitted sitting in the rolling desk chair at her monitor station. ”Now, aren't you here to help me?” she asked, her fingers already dancing across the keyboards.
