"Mm…" Nix held tighter to Derlik, turning his ears back. "Do you think I'm annoying them?" He asked softly.
"Mm…" Nix held tighter to Derlik, turning his ears back. "Do you think I'm annoying them?" He asked softly.
"I don't," Derlik said. "I really don't. I just think… we're all having a hard time figuring out how to act around the others."
"I-I guess so… I just… I don't know how to fix it…" He buried his face in Derlik's chest, trembling a bit.
"I… don't either," Derlik admitted softly. "But we'll figure something out together, I promise." Derlik kissed Nix's head, rubbing his back.
"Mmkay…" Nix sighed shakily, curling his tail tightly around himself. "If you say so, Derlik…"
Derlik kissed Nix's head again, pulling him close to his chest.
"It's going to be okay…"
Nix nodded weakly and sighed a bit, keeping his ears turned back. "Glad you think so, Derlik…"
"I'm going to make sure of it." Derlik sat down, his hands going up to cup Nix's cheeks.
Nix looked up at Derlik meekly, his eyes shining a bit. "I… o-okay…"
Derlik carefully led Nix's head closer, kissing his forehead.
"I've got you, sweetie…"
"Thanks…" Nix hesitated before clumsily kissing Derlik's cheek with a soft purr.
Derlik smiled softly when Nix kissed his cheek, turning his head to kiss Nix's in return.
"Mm…" He ran his fingers through Nix's hair, letting out a breath.
Nix wrapped his arms around Derlik's neck and huddled close to him, sighing contentedly as Derlik pet him.
Derlik was glad to see Nix calmed down, at least. The god continued to pet Nix, settling back into his spot on the couch.
Nix closed his eyes, eventually drifting off into a light sleep in Derlik's arms. Cas glanced over from the table, still seeming uneasy.
Derlik settle down with Nix, kissing the man's head once more.
"…I still don't trust him," Serna said, keeping her voice quiet.
"Me either, but… I'm just worried about Nix." Cas sighed softly. "I don't know how to make him feel better."
"I don't either," Serna admitted. "It's… hard. Like at any moment if we say something he could be upset by it."
"Yeah… he seems to be pretty sensitive, which I guess makes sense, but… it makes it harder to talk to him."
"Yes… we'll have to do something to try and find a way to communicate with him, though. It's important…" Zachary spoke up, looking between the two.
Cas nodded a bit. "Especially since he's feeling neglected and stuff. I feel bad about it…"
"Yeah…" Serna looked over again, letting out a sigh. "I feel so sorry, that he's had to turn to Derlik for someone to feel safe around."
"Mhmm… he seems to feel most comfortable with someone who's strong, so that he feels safe and protected."
"Right. It's just… why did Derlik have to be the one..?" Serna shook her head. "Most anyone else would have been fine…"
Cas shrugged a bit. "I dunno. I'm not incredibly familiar with the gods in the first place, so…"
