"I love you too." Zachary let out a breath as he moved outside. He leaned on his cane some, taking his steps slowly.
"I love you too." Zachary let out a breath as he moved outside. He leaned on his cane some, taking his steps slowly.
Cas carefully sat down outside with Zachary, keeping one arm around him to keep him steady. "You doing okay?"
"Mhm," Zachary said. "I'm getting better at this for sure." He smiled, leaning his head over to kiss Cas.
"Thank you, for all the help."
"No problem, love." Cas got himself settled in Zachary's lap and huddled closer to him.
Zachary hummed, smiling. He rubbed small circles in his lovers back, resting his head against him.
Cas kept quiet as he huddled up with Zachary, only looking up when Serna opened the door. "Mm… do we have to come in now?"
"Indeed, sweetie," Serna said. "Dinner's ready." Serna still had Nix in her arms, rubbing his back.
"Alright, thanks." Cas got up and carefully helped Zachary to his feet so he could lead him inside.
Zachary leaned on Cas's arm some, using the cane as well. Serna turned to go inside, leaving the door open for them. Derlik was already sat at the table, Serna setting Nix gently in the other god's lap.
Nix looked up at Derlik when he was set down in the god's lap and leaned up against his chest. Cas guided Zachary over to the table and helped him sit down.
Derlik offered Nix a gentle smile when the man looked up at him, kissing the man's head. Zachary squeezed Cas's hand to show his appreciation, settling down for the meal.
Nix turned his ears back a bit at the kiss and started quietly eating while Cas continued assisting Zachary. He occasionally glanced up at the two of them, but never spoke.
Zachary had gotten a lot better at eating on his own, but he did need the help sometimes.
Serna watched as the table fell into an awkward silence, setting her fork down.
"So," she said, looking up. "How was everyone's day so far?"
Nix shrugged a bit and Cas tensed up, pausing for a moment. "Um… fine, I guess." Cas replied stiffly. "You?"
Mission failed, then.
"It's been good," Serna said, looking down at her plate.
Cas nodded and hesitated before he continued feeding Zachary. This is… really uncomfortable. Cas sighed softly to himself, honestly not sure what to do to ease the tension.
Serna didn't know either- her attempt to do so had failed miserably. Derlik kept his arms around Nix as they ate, looking up at the others. He didn't speak, just keeping Nix close.
Nix soon lost interest in eating and just huddled up against Derlik, burying his face in the other's chest. Cas looked away, still looking tense and uncomfortable.
Derlik pulled his hands back when Nix did this, gently rubbing the man's back.
"Well, I think Nix and I are done," the god said, moving to stand. "I think we'll excuse ourselves, then."
"Ah, alright…" Cas watched them go, fidgeting uncomfortably. What the hell am I supposed to do? Nix huddled closer to Derlik with a shaky sigh.
Zachary leaned over to Cas, gently ran one hand around Cas's waist.
Derlik kissed Nix's head, bringing him into the living room.
"I've got you…"
Cas sighed softly and leaned up against Zachary, closing his eyes for a moment. Nix huddled closer to Derlik, purring weakly. "I'm sorry…" He murmured.
"There's nothing to be sorry for," Derlik assured. Zachary hugged Cas, kissing his cheek without a word.
"I feel like I'm just being overdramatic at this point…" Nix sighed softly and huddled closer. Cas returned the kiss and rested his head on Zachary's shoulder.
"You're not," Derlik promised. He kissed Nix's head, rubbing his back. "I've got you…" Zachary kept his arm around Cas, a thumb lightly trailing over a small patch of his arm.
