"Derlik's the god of chaos, yeah? Well, there's really only one other nice god- Marcos. But a human, lord, if only he had been able to find a nice man like him, instead of the pervert…" Serna shook her head some.
"Derlik's the god of chaos, yeah? Well, there's really only one other nice god- Marcos. But a human, lord, if only he had been able to find a nice man like him, instead of the pervert…" Serna shook her head some.
"Pervert? Do you mean Halm?" Cas asked worriedly. "Or Derlik? Or someone else?"
"Aah," Serna fumbled a bit. "Remember when Nix and I went to the surface for a bit? He… was on an online date."
"Oh, yeah… that…" Cas cringed a bit. "That… wasn't good… do you think we might be able to find him a human who won't do that to him?"
"That's my hope," Serna said. "Anyone but Derlik, or most of the other gods…"
"Well, maybe you could suggest the dating site to him again? He's pretty clueless, so he might not even think that he and Derlik are a thing."
"I… wouldn't try to get him back on the site," Serna admitted. "And hopefully he doesn't. However… I'll be on the lookout for someone we could trust."
"Alright… I just want what's best for him, and it's not great for him to be alone right now." Cas sighed softly. "But he should also be with someone who's good for him."
"Yeah, for sure." Serna looked out the window for a moment. "I'm… half tempted to try to find a soul."
"Really?" Cas looked up curiously. "For Nix, or just to help you out?"
"For Nix," Serna admitted. "Someone who would be able to take care of him."
Cas nodded a bit. "I could go with you, if you'd like."
"Yeah… we could try to find one of the new souls, one's without memories. It's my job to design new souls, and I could put memories into them if need be." Serna let out a breath. It wasn't common at all she would suggest building someone from the ground up for Nix to love.
"Yeah, that could work. I don't really know how the whole soul thing works, but I'm sure I can trust your judgement." Cas yawned a bit.
"Okay. We'll find a soul to work with tomorrow, then?" Serna looked up to Cas, setting her fork down.
Cas nodded and huddled closer to Zachary. "Sounds like a plan. Wake me up whenever you're ready to go."
"Okay, then." Serna stood, taking their empty plates up. "I'll see you in the morning then?"
"Mhmm." Cas got to his feet and helped Zachary up as well. "Ready to go to bed, love?"
"Yes," Zachary agreed. He kissed Cas's head, saying a quiet good night to Serna as he stood with Cas's help and his cane.
Cas led Zachary into the bedroom and got him settled on the bed. Nix yawned and stretched a bit, trying to get more comfortable.
Zachary kissed Cas's cheek, letting out a hum.
"I love you," the minor god said softly, running his fingers through Cas's hair.
Derlik shifted so Nix was laying on top of him, running his hand over the man's back.
"Love you too, Zachary…" Cas huddled up with Zachary and hummed softly, seeming content for the moment.
Nix purred contentedly at the petting, shifting around a bit as he started dozing off.
Zachary pulled the blankets up, tucking them both in.
"Good night…"
"Sweet dreams, Nix," Derlik said gently, kissing Nix's head as he settled down for the night.
"Goodnight, Zachary…" Cas huddled up in Zachary's arms and soon fell asleep. Nix did the same, relaxing in Derlik's embrace.
Derlik was up first in the morning. One less day before they had to go back to Halm's home. He hated the thought. The god sat up slightly, still holding Nix close to himself.
