She nodded a bit and kept walking. About ten minutes later, Rowan stirred a bit, whining softly.
Matthew looked down when Rowan stirred, hugging him a bit closer.
"Hello, love, how are you feeling?"
"Mmmm…" Rowan looked up at Matthew blearily, obviously pretty out of it still. "What…?"
"Are you feeling a bit better?" Matthew repeated, hopeful.
"Mm… a little…" He replied, huddling a bit closer to Matthew. "Still kinda woozy, though…"
"A little is better than nothing," Matthew said. He smiled softly, kissing Rowan's head again.
Rowan nodded weakly, closing his eyes again. "Yeah… my head kinda hurts…"
"Mm… want some water?" Matthew gently ran his fingers through Rowan's hair, keeping him close.
"Sure, if we have any…" Rowan yawned again, sighing softly and relaxing into Matthew's touch.
Matthew reached to his side, pulling the water skin up and offering it to Rowan.
"Here love," he said, smiling some.
(I didn't get a notif for this for some reason sfhjm)
Rowan accepted the water and sipped at it idly, keeping close to Matthew. "Mm… thanks…"
(oop–)
"You're welcome." Matthew smiled, kissing Rowan's head as he drank.
Rowan squirmed a bit, trying to get out of Matthew's arms so that he could walk. "How much farther are we going?"
"Not far," Matthew said. "Do you really think you're feeling good enough to walk on your own?"
Rowan nodded, still trying to get down. "Yeah, I'm sure I'll be fine. I can walk."
"Okay then, dear…" Matthew sat Rowan down, still keeping close.
Rowan took Matthew's hand and walked along at his side, a little slower than he would have liked to be, but trying his best anyway. He seemed stable at the very least.
Matthew's hand swayed some as he held Rowan's smiling some. He was more than happy to accommodate for Rowan's speed, just glad the human wasn't pushing himself.
Rowan glanced around as he walked, toying with a stray thread on his shirt. He didn't really know what to say, so he just kept quiet and close to Matthew.
Matthew let his wing lower to cover Rowan slightly as they walked into the evening, keeping him sheltered.
Rowan seemed to be growing tired after an hour or so, beginning to limp ever so slightly. His ankle was getting sore, and he seemed to be tired in general as well.
Matthew didn't hesitate to scoop Rowan up when he noticed how he tired and began to limp, holding him close.
"You've been doing good," he praised softly, kissing Rowan's cheek.
"Mm… thanks…" Rowan replied weakly, resting his head against Matthew's chest and relaxing a bit. "How long did I go that time?"
"About an hour," Matthew said, smiling some. He kissed Rowan's head, offering him some more water.
Rowan nodded a bit and sipped at the water, still frustrated with himself for walking so little time, but glad that he had gone longer than last time. "Alright… when are we stopping for the night?"
