Character A is a nerdy loser who somehow magically gets sucked through a portal to another dimension— a fantasy dimension where creatures like centaurs and merfolk and such live. Character A is discovered by Character B, who is a beautiful winged race (think angelic except not a spiritual being), and Character B has never seen a human so they think they're smol and cute and need to be protected, and they take them in.

Background: Matthew comes from a simple family, not much conflict in his past at all. He works as a guard for his village.

Fears: being completely isolated
Pets?: A little cat sized griffin named Sir Fluff
Powers?: Enhanced eyesight, telekinesis, wings
Other: I'll get a picture of him eventually lol
(Oh my god do you watch Sir Fluff too? Regardless of that, I'm excited to start! Do you have any ideas?)
(just started! Hm… Somehow we've got to get Rowan from earth to Matthew's world)
(Sir Fluff is the best lmao. Um… the prompt said something about a portal, so I guess he could stumble upon it in the woods or something? Or maybe picks up a ring he finds and gets sucked into the dimension because magic?)
(ok, I like the ring idea! You start or me?)
(I'll start, just give me a sec ^^)
Rowan adjusted one of his earbuds as he walked down the side of the road, humming softly along with the tune of his music. He glanced around to make sure no cars were coming before jogging across the street to walk beside the nearby woods. He yawned a bit, only perking up when he noticed something shiny in the grass. A ring…? Did someone lose this? He wondered, reaching down to pick it up. I should probably take this to the police station… As soon as he touched the ring, he disappeared and reappeared somewhere he'd never been before. He froze, understandably startled and a bit queasy from the instantaneous journey. "H-Hello…?" He asked weakly.
It had been another normal day for Matthew- completely boring. No one ever came around his village, so why did they have the guard? Okay, so Matthew knew why, but there hadn't been conflict in years! He huffed slightly, leaning against a wall and polishing his bow. He should have brought Fluff with him, but nOoOo, it was unprofessional.
Matthew looked up when he heard a faint voice. His eyes narrowed a bit, lifting his bow slightly.
"Hello?" he called back.
Oh thank god, there's actually someone here… Rowan swallowed nervously and looked around for the source of the voice. "W-Who's there? Can… can you help me?" He asked weakly. He stepped backwards and tripped, yelping as he tumbled back into the grass. "Where am I?!" He called out shakily, his voice fearful and faltering.
Matthew slowly lowered his bow. He stepped into the woods, following the voice.
"My name is Matthew," he started gently, keeping his voice calm. "I can help you, I'm sure…" Finally, he found the… boy? He was as short as the young ones in his village, but… no wings. Then what was he? He stepped out behind the person, voice still gentle.
"Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah, I think so, I—" Rowan froze when he noticed Matthew, his heart skipping a bit. "O-Oh my god… am I dead?! Are you an angel?!" He got to his feet and stumbled backwards away from Matthew, clearly afraid. "W-What happened to me?! Was that ring cursed or something?!"
Matthew tilted his head a bit. Angel? He'd never heard the term before. Still, he carefully knelt down, wings folding behind him.
"You're not dead," he assured softly. "And… well, I have no idea what an angel is. And I don't know about the ring… Perhaps a teleportation device?" Matthew held his hands up above his knees, showing he meant Rowan no harm.
"I won't hurt you," he promised.
Rowan whimpered quietly as he looked up at Matthew. He's so tall… "M-Maybe I'm dreaming…? I've got to be… there's no way that this is real…" He hesitated before slapping himself hard across the face and staggering a bit. "Ah! Shit… definitely not dreaming… where… where am I?" He asked weakly.
Matthew looked on with concern when the man slapped himself.
"This is Elson, an Avian village," he explained gently. "Are you alright? You hit yourself very hard…" Matthew rested his hands in his lap, carefully watching Rowan.
"Y-Yeah, I'm… fine. Just had to make sure I wasn't sleeping. I'm clearly not." Rowan sighed, rubbing the blossoming red mark on his cheek. "This is just all so surreal… this kind of thing doesn't happen where I come from…"
