"Okay, then what?" He tilted his head.
"Okay, then what?" He tilted his head.
She tilted her head as well and stuck out her tongue in thought. "Amore? I called you that this morning I believe."
"What does that mean?" He reached over and held her hands.
"Love." She smiled up at him.
"Awwwwww, so sweet." He frowned slightly. "Now I got pressure on me to give you a nickname."
She snorted. "I got one–Tessie."
"Yeah, but I'm not allowed to call you by your real name. So it's just your name for me."
"Hmm. True enough, I guess."
"It's the same concept you used for me."
She stuck out her tongue. "I know that. I've just never really thought about a nickname for myself."
"Obviously you have, since you call yourself something other than your name." He stuck his tongue right back at her
She rolled her eyes with a smile. "That's because I hate the name Theresa. Bad memories associated with it."
"I mean, Tega isn't that bad of a name. I just don't think I could adjust after being called Runner for so long." He sighed, laying back down with his legs curled at the knee.
"Yeah." She suddenly slapped his knee. "Oh! Right! The first round is a free for all, just like I said. Friendly-fire is a no go, but those of you brought in by recommendations are on your own."
"I'll try to stay out of your way, then," he said. "You won't be very hard to spot, though."
She snorted. "Oh, you'll see me." She rubbed her hands together in anticipation. "I want to show Fassor just what he's up against, but I'll let you be the one to knock him out. The sooner the better."
"That'll be fun. And this time I won't have my sister stepping in to stop me," he mused, closing his eyes.
She tilted her head. "Sister?"
"Yeah, Clover, apparently. The one armed girl that punched me?"
"Ooooooh. The fun one."
He shook his head in disbelief. "So you would've allowed her to punch me if you were there?"
"If you deserved it," she winked and grinned. "You have no problem with Zeus fighting me," she pointed out. "I also have a younger brother and a little sister. He's a dick and she's a sweet little angel that looks at me like a hero thanks to my mother and step father."
"That's 'cause there was no malicious intent behind you and Zeus fighting. She tried to break my jaw."
She tilted her head. "I think if she wanted to break your jaw, you wouldn't be talking right now. She has a metal arm, y'know."
(Ugh, we had to listen to this band called Attaboy for an assembly at school. They're not bad, but they're not my kind of music.)
