"Then what are you waiting for? Let's go." Good Lord, what am I doing?

She turned on her heel, shoving open the door that led to the school's changing room right before the outdoor pool–which was her favorite sunbathing spot. Almost instantly, she pulled off her black tank top while keeping her back to him. Cross-crossing scars marred her back. A small round scar sat above her one shoulder blade.
Despite himself, he was blushing, studying the scars to try and distract himself from what was actually happening.
She was aware of his blushing presence, peeking at him in a nearby mirror and hiding her smile, but tried to block it out as she set the tank top on a bench and searched for her locker, skimming her fingers over them while she recited the number under her breath.
This was a really bad idea, he thought to himself, looking down at his feet while he waited. Just keep those thoughts out of your head and you'll be fine.
She found her locker and effectively unlocked it, then turned her back to Runner and slipped off her bra, quickly exchanging it for her bikini top.
Luckily, he was looking at his feet, or he would've probably collapsed.
"You wanted to be in here," she sang merrily, completely unfazed. She decided to just wear her shorts since she was afraid the poor boy wouldn't be able to handle that much.
"I-…I know…." He rubbed the back of his neck in shame.
She snickered and closed her locker after stuffing her clothes in it, turning to him with her hands on her hips. "I'm good now." She smirked, knowing she won once again.
"One day," he vowed, looking up from his feet. "I do it one day."
She raised a brow. "Do what one day?"
"Be able to sit though something like with at least acting like it's nothing." He had a sheepish smile on his face.
She walked up to him and kissed his cheek. "Baby steps," she said against his skin with a smile.
"I at least tried," he said, the blush returning.
She ruffled his hair. "Yes, you did. And I'm proud you even had the courage to challenge me."
"Trust me," he said, poking her nose in response to the air ruffle. "I'mma win one day."
She scrunched up her nose but didn't bat him away this time. "I look forward to the day."
He managed to hold his blush back this time, replacing it with a grin. "Mhm."
She flashed a cocky grin and slid her hand in his, pulling him through the changing room and to the pool.
"I like lounging around. Means I don't gotta get up," he said as he was dragged along.
She sorted. They reached the edge of the pool, which was bright and devoid of students. Lots of beach chairs were set out for lounging. Tess let go of his hand and lowered herself on one, choosing to lay on her stomach and rest her head on her arms.
He sat down on the one next to her, holding a hand over his head. "Fuck, it's bright."
She looked up, but her eyes were unaffected by the sunlight. "Sunglasses are in a pouch under the chairs."
"But that takes work." He flopped against the back of the seat, releasing a surprised grunt when it fell backwards with him.
