Steve climbed into the seat, shutting the little door behind him. He let out a soft breath, smiling over at Bucky as they slowly moved up.
Steve climbed into the seat, shutting the little door behind him. He let out a soft breath, smiling over at Bucky as they slowly moved up.
Bucky smiled back, looking out the ferris wheel after a moment to watch as the fround began to move away from them.
"Hey," Steve softly said, turning to smile at Bucky as they stopped a little under halfway to the top. "I'm really glad you're here– or, we're here…together," He said a little shyly.
Bucky smiled faintly at that, and nodded, looking over at Steve. "Yeah. Me too." he replied, taking a deep breath.
"Yeah– I just…did'tt know if this was too much or too soon," Steve said with a nervous laugh, smiling as he looked from the rosy coloured clouds to Bucky, "But…we're here, this sky is breathtaking and…so are you."
Bucky smiled as well. "Yeah, I–" and then he heard the last part and bit his lip. "Oh. I…" He didn't know how to respond.
"Was that…too forward?" Steve said with a bashful laugh, his gaze flickering down to Bucky's lips for a moment. I know what else would be forward.
"I, uhm. I don't know." Bucky replied with a faint, embarrassed laugh, eyes flashing over Steve's face, lingering on his mouth before he pulled his eyes away again.
Steve smiled, looking at the sweet-coloured sky as they moved a little farther up. He glanced at Bucky, trying not to bite his lip at the sight of how his long hair framed his face, "Well, it's true, anyway."
Bucky shrugged a little, turning his face a way a little, strands of hair falling in front of his eyes. "I– don't know about that, but…"
"You don't believe me?" Steve said with a faint smile, tilting his head to the side, "Well, younger Steve thought so too."
Bucky blinked. "I…don't remember that." But then, he didn't remember much anyways, sinit didn't matter.
"Oh– I wouldn't've told you that, back then," Steve said with a shy laugh, remembering the way he used to feel when Bucky grinned and threw his head back in laughter, "Though I wish I had."
He nodded a little bit. "Right. That's right. I…forgot." he replied slowly, looking at Steve and taking a deep breath.
"But…I don't think I should linger on all the things I didn't say or do," Steve said, smiling softly at him, glancing at his lips, "Cause now I can say and do those things, without fear or…uncertainty."
(uhhh I got bored and made a Bucky Aes board. Here ya go: Bucky)
Bucky nodded a little. "Or ostracization." He added with a faint smile, knowing that the world had changed in its attitude towards men like them.
(ooh~👀 // i just checked my boards for Jude and Michael– and somehow ive saved like 100 pins each)
"Without ostracization," Steve agreed, smiling as he nodded, thinking of the quiet longing and all of the stolen glances that he'd fought so hard to ignore, "And now, without doubting myself– or what I feel."
(cool! Resend me the links so I can look at them again lol)
He nodded a little, looking at Steve carefully and chewing on his lip a little, eyes flashing to Steve's mouth for a moment.
(thanks!)
Bucky shrugged faintly. "I uhm…I don't know." He replied. I still have all this HYDRA junk in my head, and…
"Did you feel free after we ditched the party?" Steve smiled, glancing at the coloured sky as he remembered the past evening's sunset, "When we…confessed?"
(so so I have a scenario for later: Bucky wakes up and knocks on Steve's door and he's just shaking and almost in tears and tells Steve he had bad dreams/nightmares and doesn't wanna be alone, so he and Steve cuddle and Steve tries to comfort him and yeah)
He smiled faintly at that memory, nodding. They were reaching the top. "…yeah. Yeah, I…I did." He replied quietly, looking over at Steve and unable to keep his eyes from flashing to his lips.
(mhmm! steve could ask why he doesn't wanna sleep on a bed –and bucky could tell him ?the next day)
"This freedom…" Steve said, letting out a sigh as he looked down at the illuminated amusement park without fear, "It feels good." His gaze flickered back to Bucky, his voice quiet but low as he smiled, looking down at his lips, "Can I show you what I mean?"
(yes perfect!)
Bucky blinked, looking at Steve carefully. "I…yeah." he replied slowly. "I think so." he didn't quite know how to respond, but he knew he wanted Steve to show him.
