Bucky smiled a little bit. "Why would I change my mind in a matter of minutes?" he asked, raising his eyebrows a little bit.
Bucky smiled a little bit. "Why would I change my mind in a matter of minutes?" he asked, raising his eyebrows a little bit.
"Well– I don't know," Steve said, putting his free hand in his pocket and looking down a little shyly, "Maybe I thought that…you'd remember something new and, well…" He shrugged, letting out a soft laugh, "Change your mind."
Bucky laughed softly. "Even if I remembered something new, why would that change my mind, Steve?" he asked, raising his eyebrows again.
"Because…you might realize that you feel differently about me," Steve said, smiling to cover up the doubt in his words. "Like– I dunno," He shrugged again, "Maybe you felt this way before– but it went away."
Bucky shrugged slightly, looking around for a moment, then over at Steve. "Feelings change, but…" he ran his fingers through his long, dark hair. "I don't know."
Steve bit his lip. "Hmm…I don't know either," He said, glancing at Bucky, "I just know that…I don't wanna mess this up for us. And…I don't wanna get hurt."
(not gonna be too active for the next few days. My cousins are coming to visit)
Bucky nodded slowly. "Yeah. I get that." he replied softly, looking at Steve. "I…" he shrugged faintly.
(okay, have fun :)
"Y'know– maybe just forget I brought it up," Steve said with a quiet laugh, waving a gently dismissive hand though the doubt was still with him, "Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about."
Bucky laughed a little bit. "Alright, we can forget it, then." He replied, smiling over at Steve.
Steve nodded, looking at Bucky with a shy smile as they walked toward the subway station. "Sure thing. Though, just checking, are you sure you–" He added jokingly, chuckling a bit.
Bucky laughed. "Yes, Steve, I'm sure." He replied, smiling as he looked over at Steve. "Don't worry."
"Okay," Steve said, nodding as he looked down, smiling like an idiot, "I can't help but worry, though. I've questioned what I feel since we were teenagers."
Bucky smiled a little at that. "Yeah. Well. Of you change your mind, let me know." He replied softly as he looked at Steve.
"Will do," Steve smiled, nodding a bit as he met Bucky's gaze, "Though– I don't see that happening anytime soon."
Bucky nodded a little bit. "Mm. Alright." He replied. "When's the train going to arrive?" He asked.
Steve checked his watch and then the printed schedule mounted on a wall. "Not long," He said with a nod, making sure they were at the right stop, "Few minutes, maybe."
Bucky glanced at the schedule for a moment, then nodded a little. "Alright." He replied, looking over at Steve with a little smile.
Steve smiled, letting his gaze travel back to the illuminated lights of the rides in the far distance. "So, Coney Island?" He prompted, "Anything like you expected– or remember? Though, it has changed a lot."
Bucky shrugged. "I don't know. It's all…similar to what memories I have, but still so different." he replied slowly, looking at Steve.
"Hm," Steve nodded, leaning on a wall and letting out a sigh as he looked around the amusement park. "Definitely different. Used to play music over there; for dancin'," He said, smiling as he pointed to a plain stretch of land next to an ice cream stand, "They had competitions and all sorts of stuff."
Bucky nodded a little bit. "I don't remember that." he replied quietly, wishing he did. It sounded like it would have been fun.
"That's okay," Steve said with a soft smile, glancing back to Bucky with fond memories of how happy he looked while he danced, "It was a good time. We didn't wanna stop dancin', though we were tired and basically passed out on the couch once we got back to my apartment."
Bucky smiled a little bit, trying to imagine that. "Ah." he simply replied, nodding his head and loking around the station.
Steve smiled, raising his eyebrows lightly as he spotted the lights of the train shining out the tunnel. "Our ride's here," He said as the train slowed to a stop, the doors sliding open with a chime and a muffled voice recording to mind the gap.
Bucky smiled a little. "Alright." He replied. He got in the train when Steve did, looking around for a moment before returning his gaze to Steve.
