Bucky shrugged a little, taking a sip of his drink. "Yeah. Maybe so. I guess it depends on your point of view, doesn't it." He looked thoughtful for a moment.

Bucky shrugged a little, taking a sip of his drink. "Yeah. Maybe so. I guess it depends on your point of view, doesn't it." He looked thoughtful for a moment.
Steve nodded. "For sure," He said, running a hand through his hair, "We'll never really know if fate is just luck or coincidence."
Bucky nodded as well, agreeing with him. "That's true. I guess someday we might know, but probably not." he shrugged his shoulders again, setting his cup down.
(should tony text him the pic?)
Steve took a sip of his milkshake, looking to the side in thought. "Yeah. I mean– I used to think us meeting as kids was just luck," He said, "But after all the stuff that's happened between then and now, I don't know. Calling it fate seems odd."
(sure!)
Steve's phone pinged in his pocket. Bucky shrugged again. "Yeah– I don't know." he replied. "I don't think it's fate. But…I don't know."
"Hm," Steve said, nodding as he pulled his phone out of his pocket, seeing that there was a text from Tony followed by a series of messages in all-caps. "I guess you could say that–" He said, though stopped short when the link he clicked brought him to an Instagram post of the two of them.
"Could say what?" Bucky asked curiously, raising his eyebrows at Steve. "Is something going on?" he wondered what the ping was about.
Steve stared at the little screen in a mix of confusion and shock. His gaze lingered down to the number of likes, and let out a laugh of surprise, shaking his head in disbelief. "I–" He tried, blinking at the photo before bursting out in hushed laughter, showing him his phone, "I don't– I can't even–"
Bucky blinked in surprise at the sight of the image. "I– oh. That's…that's from when we fell in the fountain." he said slowly, eyes flickering from Steve, and back to the picture.
Steve nodded, looking at the photo of them with a shy smile. So that's what it looked like from behind? Wow. "God, look at the– what do you call it," He chuckled, pointing at the hashtag that read #soakedsupersoldiers, putting his phone on the table and hiding his face in his hands.
Bucky snorted, looking over at Steve. "What, are you embarrassed?" He asked curiously, arching an eyebrow at Steve curiously. "Or what?"
Steve shook his head, smiling as he looked over at the picture. "No, not embarrassed," He said, noting how fixed his gaze had been on Bucky, "Just surprised. It seems like a lot of people saw it, and we look–" Steve shrugged, letting out a faint laugh.
Bucky raised his eyebrows. "We look what?" he asked, wishing Steve would just finish the sentence and stop breaking off like that.
Steve shrugged, smiling a little shyly. "Y'know…" He said with a soft laugh his gaze flickering back to the photo, "We look kinda…I dunno…involved?"
"Well– aren't we?" Bucky arched an eyebrow. "Maybe not at the time the picture was taken, but…"
"Yeah," Steve said with a smile, his heart fluttering at the reminder, "I mean– yeah, not at the time, but it's still a pretty wild thing to have as a picture. Though…I don't mind."
Bucky smiled back. "Yeah." He replied, looking over at Steve carefully. "It's interesting, though."
"Definitely," Steve said through a laugh, nodding a little shyly, "I didn't mean to land on you like that. I just hope this doesn't end up on the fridge; it'd be an 'interesting' thing to see every time I go to get some juice."
Bucky laughed a little bit. "Well. I guess that's up to Tony and the others, right?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.
Steve smiled as he let out a sigh, nodding. "I guess it is," He said, taking a last look at the picture before putting his phone away, "But the outside of that fridge might be getting a little crowded, so maybe there won't be space."
"Hmm, true. But then, the wall is always open for more." Bucky shrugged a shoulder as he looked over at Steve, smiling soflty.
Steve laughed as he pictured all those embarrassing pictures of the group on the wall. "So you're sayin' there could be a framed photo of us in the fountain? On display, in Stark Tower?"
He shrugged. "I don't know. I'm just pointing that fact out." he replied, looking at Steve again and shrugging. "You're the one that knows whether it would or not."
Steve finished up his milkshake and leaned back in his chair, smiling at the idea of having framed pictures of the two of them on the wall; something he wouldn't dare consider when he realized he was falling for him. "Hmph, it would sure be a funny sight," He said with a chuckle, "But the idea of having framed photos doesn't seem too bad; it could make the place seem a little homier."
(ngl i misread homier as hornier and now i wanna die)
Bucky smiled a little bit. "Yeah, it would." he agreed, stretching and running a hand through his hair. "Although then there would be a lot more, because everyone would put up pictures."
