Steve's smile faded a bit as they properly approached it, shuffling into the line. "Oh," He said, staring up at the towering tracks that hadn't seemed too bad from where they'd been standing before.
Steve's smile faded a bit as they properly approached it, shuffling into the line. "Oh," He said, staring up at the towering tracks that hadn't seemed too bad from where they'd been standing before.
Bucky looked up at it. "You going to be alright on this thing?" He asked, looking over at Steve for a moment.
Steve laughed, nodding. *Did they somehow make it longer? And higher? * "'Course," He said smiling and waving a dismissive hand, trying not to look at how the tracks shook whenever the coaster ran by, "What about you?"
Bucky nodded. "I'll be fine." He replied. "Just wanted to check on you, I suppose." He ran his fingers through his hair again.
Steve smiled, looking at the ground for a moment. "I'll be fine, I suppose," He said with a nod, "But thanks for askin'. Hopefully…it won't be as rickety as last time."
Bucky smiled a little. "Yeah, hopefully. But you're bigger now, so maybe it'll be better." he shrugged as they got in line for the ride.
Steve let out a playfully dismissive sound, shaking his head as they waited in line. "Hah. I don't think size really matters," He said, blinking at what he just stated before adding a flustered, "–In this…This situation. The rollercoaster– I mean."
Bucky laughed a little bit. "Right, yeah. Uhm…still." he shrugged a little, shaking his head and laughing quietly.
Steve sighed, smiling as he nodded. "But yeah–" He said, glancing up at the rollercoaster and the screaming passengers that raced down the track, "I think I'll be fine."
Bucky smiled a little bit. "You will be." He replied comfortingly, reaching out and setting a hand on Steve's arm.
Steve tried to hide a shy smile that found its way onto his expression when Bucky touched him. Before, showing affection was just part of how Bucky was. Now, he was a little more…quiet. "Sure," Steve said with a nod, "And I have you by my side, anyway. Last time, I was fine. More or less."
Bucky nodded a little bit, smiling softly at him. "Yeah, alright." he replied, looking over at Steve.
Steve smiled back, though his attention was soon redirected to the line moving in front of them as the coaster came around, letting the old riders off and a new round on.
Bucky smiled a little as they took their places on the roller coaster, rather close to the front but not all the way forward.
Steve climbed in after Bucky, looking up at the ascending track with a mix of excitement and dread as the rest of the riders took their seats in a flurry of nervous laughter and chatter.
Bucky sat down and pulled the buckle down over them, making sure it was secure, and looked over at Steve. "You ready?" He questioned.
"Haha– yeah," Steve said through a nervous laugh. He nodded, feeling a strange sense of déja vu as he looked over at Bucky and the car began to move.
(sorry I wasn't on much today :) i just finished a painting and we went out to celebrate)
(it's fine. Oh nice!!)
Bucky smiled a little, and looked ahead as the cart began to move up the first hill, and waited.
Steve's eyes widened as the car slowly crept up on the first incline, glancing at the view they had before they reached the highest point, letting out a noise of surprise when they raced down the steep hill.
Bucky let out a laugh as they plummeted downwards, his hands resting on the bar that kept them from falling out.
Steve's hands gripped tightly on the safety bar, almost promising to leave a dent once he let go. He was watching, wide-eyed as they followed the sharp decline and severe turn, uttering out a mix of terror and adrenaline-fueled laughter.
Bucky smirked a little bit at Steve's terror. This wasn't so bad, not to him, but he knew his friend didn't feel the same way.
Steve didn't remember why he'd suggested this, but Bucky seemed to enjoy it and that made it a little more okay. The rollercoaster was just as jarring and seemingly unstable as he'd remembered, and the speed and sharpness of the turns felt just as terrifying.
(not gonna be super active tonight)
Bucky was smiling as they went through the curves and speeds and drops, not watching Steve.
