He stuck out his tongue for a moment. "You're always teasing." he grumbled, shaking his head at Steve.
He stuck out his tongue for a moment. "You're always teasing." he grumbled, shaking his head at Steve.
"Me?" Steve said with slightly raised eyebrows, smiling as he pointed to himself, "I'm just tryna speak the truth, or make you smile or somethin'."
He rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "Mhm. Sure." he replied, unable to squash the smile that pulled at his lips as he looked over at Steve.
Steve grinned, innocently raising his eyebrows at Bucky's expression. "See?" He laughed, looking at the smile of the man he thought he'd lost forever, "Told ya. It's the truth."
Bucky shook his head a little bit. "Is not." He insisted, sighing and running his fingers through his hair.
Steve smiled, lightly shrugging. "Fine," He said, leaning his head against the wall as he looked at Bucky, "If not cute, what can I call you?"
(not gonna be on tonight sorry)
Bucky shrugged a little. "I don't know. I'm sure you can come up with something." He replied with a light smile.
(np– if you see this, im not gonna be on tomorrow night or…tonight?)
Steve nodded, smiling as he looked up, pretending to think about it. "Sure thing," He said, "I'll keep ya posted."
(alright!)
Bucky nodded. "Alright." he replied, looking around carefully. "Are we nearly there?" he asked after a few minutes.
Steve thought back to the conductor's muffled call at the previous stop. "Yeah, I think," He said, "Next stop, we'll get off."
Bucky nodded again. "Ah. Alright." he hoped this trip would stir up more memories, more hazy, half-remembered images of things he had done with Steve.
Steve nodded, and a few moments later they slowed to a stop, the doors opening with a soft hiss as people got up. "Ready?" Steve prompted with a smile, standing and stretching a bit.
Bucky nodded a little, standing and shifting a little bit. "Yeah, alright." He replied. "Let's go." He looked at the blond with a smile.
Steve nodded once and moved to the doors, stepping out into the subway station bustling with activity and catching sight of the exit; a mix of fanfare and late-afternoon sunlight seeping past the glass doors.
Bucky followed his friend out the door, a little smile on his face. "Thanks for… doing this." He said after a moment, clearing his throat.
Steve smiled as he turned to Bucky, the muted sounds of carnival games and rides meeting them as they walked out onto the boardwalk, "For what?" He asked.
"For this. Taking me here." He replied, smiling over at Steve again. "It's not like you had to."
Steve smiled a little shyly. "Well, I wanted to," He said, "And, I mean– there's so much more I wish I could do for you, but I can do this." Steve lightly shrugged, glancing at Bucky's smile.
Bucky nodded a little bit, still smiling softly as he looked over at Steve. "Yeah, alright." he replied, looking around before his eyes returned to the blonde again.
Steve let out a soft sigh as the walked along the boardwalk, his eyes flickering over the peeling paint and faded lights of the rides and buildings only faintly resembling what they used to be. "God, it's changed," He said with a smile.
Bucky nodded a little, though he didn't really recognize anything at all. He hoped he would eventually, though. He really did.
"O-kay," Steve said with a smile, looking up as the towering rides with people screaming and laughing before turning to Bucky, "What do you wanna go on? Should we go straight for the Cyclone?"
Bucky looked around. "I…sure." he replied with a smile. "Let's go." He stretched a little, looking around for the cyclone.
Steve nodded, smiling as he spotted the rollercoaster not too far ahead. "C'mon," He lightly laughed, taking Bucky's hand without thinking and heading towards it.
Bucky blinked as Steve took his hand, and followed the blonde with a faint smile.
