Bucky nodded a little bit. "Ah. Yeah, of course." He replied. "That makes sense."
Bucky nodded a little bit. "Ah. Yeah, of course." He replied. "That makes sense."
Steve thought of the memories surrounding their time growing up together. "It's funny how nostalgia makes memories of childhood seem…good, despite how bad things were back then," He said, running a hand through his hair, "–With the great depression goin' on and everything."
(not gonna be active today/ tomorrow :/ oop)
(it's fine!)
Bucky nodded a little. "Yeah. It…I guess." he replied, not really remembering enough to know whether Steve's statement was correct.
Steve faintly nodded, absentmindedly twisting the edge of his sleeve, "It was a tough time," He shrugged, "But for a good while we were oblivious to all the problems around us; It was all we ever knew."
Bucky ran his hands through his hair. "Mhm." He replied simply, taking a breath as he looked around the station.
(they're in the train lol)
Steve faintly shrugged, dismissing the thought. "Anyway," He said, turning to face Bucky with a smile, "What do you wanna talk about? Now that we've properly established that things are different."
(fuck. Whoops. Then he's looking around the train. My bad, sorry)
Bucky shrugged a little bit. "I, uhm…" He trailed off, thinking. "I don't know." He ran his hands through his hair.
(シno prob)
"Anything," Steve suggested with a smile, leaning back comfortably in his seat, "What's been on your mind?"
"What are we?" he blurted after a moment. "To…each other? If…" he trailed off, a blush spreading over his cheeks as he looked away, embarrassed.
Steve raised his eyebrows in quiet surprise, not expecting that question from him. "Uh…" He sounded, looking at the ground with a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "I mean…what do you want us to be?" Steve asked with a curious smile, taking in Bucky's shy reaction to his own question.
Bucky shrugged a little bit. "I…don't know. I was just…since we…" he shook his head, laughing at himself a little bit. "Sorry. I'm not making sense. I just…"
Steve let out a soft laugh at Bucky's nervousness, smiling shyly. "I get it," He nodded, chuckling as he fiddled with his sleeve, "And I feel the same, I guess. I…just know that I have…feelings for you, and I wanna act on those feelings. But in…whatever way that's okay with you."
Bucky looked over at him. "Yeah. And I'd…I'm…I'm okay with that, I think, I just…I don't know." He replied slowly. "I'm still getting used to this world, to… everything."
Steve nodded as he took in Bucky's words. "Of course, yeah," He said, knowing that things wouldn't be exactly as he'd expected– but still worth committing to, "So, I'm saying that things can go at their own pace– or whatever you're comfortable with."
Bucky nodded. "Right, but…what does that make us? Are we just…friends who…might kiss each other or what?"
Steve looked to the side with a shy smile. "I mean…" He shrugged, "I'd like it to be more than that. But if 'friends who kiss' is what you'd like, I–"
(kissing the homies goodnight is not gay wym)
(lmaoooo)
"No, I…I just…I don't know. I don't wanna be just friends, but I don't know…" He shook his head a little bit.
"That's okay," Steve said sincerely, smiling over at Bucky reassuringly, "We don't have to put a label on it, it can just be…something." He shrugged, "Whatever we want it to be."
Bucky nodded a little bit. "So we're…more than friends, but we don't know what yet?" he asked, looking at Steve with a blush on his cheeks.
Steve let out a thoughtful sigh, smiling softly. "Sure," He said with a shy laugh, "–Maybe we'll figure it out as we go, but for now, does that seem fine with you?"
Bucky laughed a little bit, and nodded again. "Yeah– that, that works." he replied, looking at Steve, then away again, letting out a soft breath.
Steve nodded to himself, smiling as he fiddled with the edge of his sleeve, occasionally stealing a glance at Bucky. "Okay," He said, smiling at an amusing thought, "Does this mean I can call you cute?"
Bucky looked at him, narrowing his eyes a little bit. "No, Steve, it doesn't." he replied, shaking his head. "I'm not cute."
Steve laughed, "–I'm just teasin'." He nodded, smiling over at his more-than-friend, "But fine, I won't call you cute. Though I don't have another word to describe your laugh or smile or anything."
