Liam sighed and followed them into Kasey’s room. He stood by the door, careful not to get in the way.
Liam sighed and followed them into Kasey’s room. He stood by the door, careful not to get in the way.
Madeline pulled a chair over to the bed, sitting near Kasey's leg. She carefully rolled up her pants leg to examine the wound, chewing on her lip as she looked at it.
It had originally been pretty small on the outside, but the bullet had gone deep into her calf. Kasey had thought it had fallen out during the fight, so she hadn't tried to take it out. Unfortunately, it was still there.
The skin around it was red and swollen, hot to the touch. And gold streaks wound through her leg, tracing her veins. It was a wonder Kasey had even been walking on it, as it must have been in credibly painful. In fact, the heroine quietly moaned in her sleep and tried to pull away when Dr. Willows touched it.
"This is indeed poison," she said softly as she looked at it. "But it's one that I rarely encounter."
Liam cursed under his breath, “But you know what is it, you can heal her right?” He pushed off the wall a little.
"…Yes," Madi said, standing from her chair.
"You hesitated. Why?" Harper asked, crossing his arms over his chest as he took a step closer to her.
Madeline held up a hand to stop him from coming closer, which he did. "We'll have to take her to my lab. I didn't bring the right equipment with me."
“How far away is the lab?” Liam asked, taking a cautious glance at Kasey.
Madeline tilted her head one way and the other a few times as she thought.
"About an hour," she sighed. "But she'll make it. She's not in critical condition, yet."
“The key word was yet there…” Liam muttered, “Let’s get going then.”
Madeline let out a soft breath and looked down at Kasey. She placed s gentle hand on her shoulder and shook her a bit.
"Kasey, hun, I need you to wake up," she said softly.
Kaswy stirred and blinked her eyes open. She peered at Madeline sleepily, giving her a small smile when she realized who she was.
"Hey, Madi," she greeted her groggily. "What's goin' on?"
"We're going to take you to my lab," the doctor said softly. She glanced at the guys and bit her lip for a moment. "One of you is going to need to carry her. She shouldn't walk on that leg."
“I’ll do it. If that fine with you of course, Kasey?” Liam said gently, walking so he was tanking at the side of the bed.
"Yeah, of– of course," Kasey said, nodding as she bit her lip.
Liam hesitated a moment before gently wrapping Kasey in his arms, carrying her bridal style. He tried his bets to be careful and not hurt her further.
Kasey shot him a somewhat-pained-looking smile when he picked her up.
"Great. Now, let's take her out to my van, and then leave as quickly as possible," Madeline said, making her way to the door, which Harper held open for her.
Liam followed carefully, making sure he didn’t hurt Kasey on the way.
“If you ever get uncomfortable or want Harper to carry you, just let me know.”
Kasey closed her eyes and nodded slowly. "'Kay," she whispered.
Harper and the young doctor stepped outside, waiting for the couple to follow. Kasey's brother looked impatient, tapping his foot as he waited.
(cough)
Liam slowly stepped outside with Kasey and nodded to the the two to lead the way to the van.
(Yeah, I’m here sorry)
(Is your pic a snapchat filter?)
Madeline led them to a large, black van, pressing a button to unlock the doors. She opened the back, revealing a lot of medical equipment as well as a gurney.
"You can set her on there," she said, gesturing to it.
(aha… yeah… I look uglier in person)
Liam nodded and stepped up onto the van. He very carefully and gently placed her onto the gurney.
(Lol. I doubt that. They don't really change you that much.)
Kasey has passed out again, so she didn't even stir when she was set down. Seeing how she was, Madeline sighed and turned to Harper.
"You know how to get to my lab, right?" she asked, looking up at him.
He nodded. "'Course. Do you want me to drive?"
"Please. I'd like to stay with Kasey," Madeline said with a nod as she handed the keys over to him. Turning her attention to Liam, she asked, "Would you prefer to stay back here, or go up front?"
(True, but that filter gets rid of my acne… still ugly tho)
“Here, if that’s no trouble,” Liam said, rubbing at his neck, “I can go up front if I’m going to get in the way.”
(lol. I love it when filters do that. Acne sucks.)
"You'll be fine here. There's enough room for a second person," Madeline said as she climbed up and made her way farther inside.
(Yup, it’s terrible)
Liam nodded and stayed by Kasey’s side, pressing a kiss to her knuckles and rubbing small circles on her hand, “Will she by okay?”
"I think so. Like I said, she's not yet in critical condition," Madeline sighed. She nodded toward the doors. "Would you shut those, please?"
Liam nodded. Placing one last kiss to Kasey’s hand, he walked over and shut the door, making sure it was secure.
