"Thanks. We're all set, Harper," Madeline called forward, and the van was soon started and rolling.

"Thanks. We're all set, Harper," Madeline called forward, and the van was soon started and rolling.
(Okay)
Liam sighed and walked back to Kasey, picking her hand up again, “Let’s be quick.”
(And… Skip.)
About forty-five minutes later, they arrived outside a sleek, white building. Harper parked the van and ran around to the back, opening the doors for them.
"Would you help me get this thing out?" Madeline asked Liam, gesturing to the gurney.
Liam nodded, "Of course."
He took the back of the gurney, being careful not to fall out and hurt himself as he helped Madeline bring it out of the van.
"Thanks," Madeline said with a nod. She looked over at Harper and gestured to the stretcher. "You help with that, and I'll run ahead to get my lab prepped."
"Sure," Harper said, acknowledging her with a nod of his own. "Go ahead. Hurry, please."
"You know where to find me!" Madi called over her shoulder as she ran inside.
“Well… I don’t know where we’re going so you’re not going to have to lead…” Liam said, rubbing his neck.
"Yup. Just follow me," Harper said, helping push the gurney through the halls.
After a while, they arrived at a room with double silver doors. Harper pushed them open, revealing a pristine white room with gleaming metal tables.
“Well this is… clean.” Liam couldn’t think of another word to describe the room as he looked around it, careful to not touch anything.
"Madi likes it that way," Harper chuckled. "Speaking of… Here she comes."
Doctor Willows was indeed coming toward them, pushing a cart of medical supplies in front of her. "Wheel her over to this table please."
Liam nodded and did as told, wheeling Kasey over to the table, “Need her to be moved onto the table?”
"Please," Madeline affirmed with a nod. She stepped over to a sink and washed her hands, pulling on sanitary gloves when they were dry. Glancing over at the guys, she gestured to the sink. "If you want to help, I strongly suggest you wash your hands."
Liam nodded at Madeline before moving Kasey to the table gently. After that was done, he walked over to the sink and washed his hands so he could help.
Madeline had begun to prep Kasey's leg for what she was going to do while the boys were washing their hands. As soon as they were done, she explained that she had to remove the bullet before anything else and that Kasey would have to be put under so that she couldn't feel it.
"Okay. Just… let's get it done." Liam said, biting his lip a little as he waited.
(Skip…)
A while later, Doctor Willows had put Kasey under, removed the bullet, and treated her with the antidote for the poison. She pulled her gloves off and threw them away, stepping away from the table.
"That's all I can do. The rest is up to her," she said gently, glancing at the boys. "But don't worry, she's strong; I'm sure she'll pull through."
"I hope so. Thank-you for helping her." Liam gave the Doctor a grateful smile before looking at Kasey worriedly.
"It's always a pleasure helping the Taylors," Madeline said with a smile, her gaze flicking to Harper. He didn't notice, only stared worriedly at his sister.
“How long will it be until she is fully recovered?” Liam asked, flicking his gaze to Madeline.
Madeline blinked and looked back at Liam.
"With rest, I'd say one to two weeks," she declared. "Most likely two, but she might recover faster than that."
Liam nodded, "Okay, that's not that long… even though it's going to feel like it."
"She should stay off her feet for a while, so you two will have to make sure she's not walking or standing," Madeline said, glancing between the two guys.
Liam nodded and crossed his arms over his chest, "Okay, the sounds easy enough… even though knowing Kasey she'll hate it."
"Speaking of Kasey…" Madeline glanced at the bed where the girl lay.
Kasey stirred in her bed, blinking her eyes open. She pushed herself up and looked around the room groggily.
"Hey, Kasey… how are you feeling?" Liam asked gently, walking towards her with a soft but still slightly worried smile on his face.
"Hey… I'm tired," Kasey replied, yawning as she rubbed a hand over her face. "But my head feels a lot better, so that's nice."
As the couple talked, the older adults stepped out of the room, conversing softly. They were probably talking about Kasey, but she didn't know for sure.
