"Maybe just a tad. As much as I love her I wish she wasn't Kinesie sometimes. I know that's part of who she is but… I just don't want her to… die on the job." Liam sighed a little.
"Maybe just a tad. As much as I love her I wish she wasn't Kinesie sometimes. I know that's part of who she is but… I just don't want her to… die on the job." Liam sighed a little.
"Yeah… Unfortunately, I don't think she'd be too quick to give it up, though," Harper joked. "She loves helping people."
"Do you know why she chose computer engineering to study? If she wanted to help people wouldn't becoming a doctor or a surgeon be a better option?" Liam asked.
Harper laughed. "Maybe, if she had the stomach for it. She hates the sight of blood, it makes her sick. Unless it's her own, somehow, or when she's Kinesie. Honestly, it's like a switch is flipped when she puts on that mask."
Liam laughed and shook his head in disbelief, "Really? I've never heard of that before."
"It's quite entertaining sometimes," Harper chuckled. "And as for her major… I think you'd have to ask her that yourself."
Liam sighed and smiled, nodding, "Alright, when she's awake and feeling better I will."
Harper smiled and nodded again, heading farther into the kitchen to get himself a glass of water.
"I'm sure she'd enjoy talking to you about it," he said gently. "She really cares for you."
"I wish I could do more. I'm just an ordinary human and she's a super," Liam sighed, "I don't deserve her."
"You're right. You don't," Harper agreed, not caring if he was being rude. He turned back around to face Liam, an eyebrow raised. "No one does. But if there's anyone who even comes close to deserving her? It's you."
Liam shook his head slowly, "No. I don't even come close. There's better people out there, people who could treat her better then I can."
"Not from what I've seen," Harper said, shaking his head slowly. He took a sip of his water, staring down into the glass for a moment before looking back up. "I meant what I said about her caring for you. She doesn't let people get close easily, and she also doesn't trust easily, as in sure you've found out, but she let you into her life. If she did that, then you must be special to her, and that's enough to convince me."
"Harper, she doesn't trust me. Matt said some stuff out there and know she thinks she can't trust me. I've told her she can take as long a time as she needs to figure it out but…" Liam shrugged and sighed.
"She'll come around," Harper assured him. "Trust me. It might take a little while, but she will."
"Hopefully…" Liam muttered, running a hand through his hair.
Harper cocked an eyebrow at him, then shook his head slowly as he took another drink if his water.
"You love her, right?" he asked, seemingly out of the blue.
"Of course I love her. I love her with all my heart and more." Liam said gently then looked to Harper, "Why do you ask?"
"Well…" Harper trailed off as his eyes drifted to the vase of roses, and he smiled. "Yeah. She'll trust you. Believe me, I know my sister well enough to know that."
(Might disappear soon.)
(Okay)
Liam nodded and smiled a little, "Alright. Good to know I've got the older brother on my side and his seal of approval."
Harper chuckled. "I know, I know… I was so hard to win over, huh?"
"Yeah, it was so much work." Liam laughed a little and shook his head, smiling.
Harper patted him on the shoulder with a smile, then suddenly gave him a serious look.
"But… If you ever hurt her, just know that there is a good chance they will never find your body," he threatened before taking a drink of his water.
Liam sighed and rolled his eyes a little.
"I'd expect nothing less. If they do find my body just make sure you murdered me properly, I don't want a boring death, Harper."
"Trust me, there would be nothing boring about it," Harper assured him with a chuckle. "And they most likely wouldn't even find you all in one piece…"
"Oh, great. Just feed me to the dogs then if I'm going to be chopped into a million pieces…" Liam muttered, taking a swig of his juice, "Does Kasey not drink? Seriously, I don't think apple juice is going to keep me going at this rate."
