“You need to sleep, please Kasey. I know you don’t what to be alone but we’ll be right outside.” Liam gave her hand another reassuring squeeze.
“You need to sleep, please Kasey. I know you don’t what to be alone but we’ll be right outside.” Liam gave her hand another reassuring squeeze.
"I don't know if I can sleep," Kasey murmured, even as her breathing slowed.
“Can you at least try for me, please?” Liam whispered, placing a small kiss to her forehead.
"Mm… Fine…" Kasey sighed, rolling into her side and resting her head on her arm.
“Thank-you.” Liam hummed softly for a little while, almost a lullaby to help Kasey fall asleep.
Kasey smiled at Liam's humming, and in the state she was in, it didn't take long for her to drift into sleep. Harper sighed in relief once he saw his sister asleep after all the pain she had been in, and he turned to Liam once she'd dozed off.
"Any ideas?"
“None at all. What about you?” Liam turned his head to Harper.
Harper shook his head slowly. "The only thing I can think of would be to bring her to the hospital, but I know she wouldn't want that."
“That’s true…” Liam thought for a moment, “We could always bring a Doctor here, couldn’t we?”
"I suppose there is one person who could help… But she might be busy," Harper sighed, running a hand through his hair.
Liam frowned, “Who?”
"She's an old friend. I'd take Kasey to her when she had a serious injury from her powers," Harper explained as he pulled out his phone and searched his contacts.
“Oh, okay then. What’s her name?” Liam asked, rolling his shoulder a little.
"Madeline Willows," Harper said, finally finding her contact. "Give me just a second and I'll call her."
“Okay, I’m going to get a drink…” He muttered, walking out the room to the kitchen to find something satisfying.
After a few rings, Harper was sure that she wasn't going to pick up. To his great relief, though, a light, feminine voice answered with a quick, "Hello?"
"Madeline? It's Harper, Harper Taylor."
"Oh, Harper! Hey, how's it going?" Madeline asked.
"It's going okay. But I need your help," Harper said, his voice holding a sense of urgency.
Dr. Willows noted his tone and sounded worried when she asked, "What's wrong? What happened?"
"…It's Kasey. She got shot, and we think the bullet might have been poisoned."
"I'll be right there. Give me twenty minutes."
"Thanks. Please hurry."
(I hate being that person who can't wait, but… here I am…)
(Aha, lol. Hey there)
Liam sighed and walked into the kitchen, opening the fridge to find something to drink. Alcohol would have been his preferred choice but clearly, Kasey didn't drink. Sighing, he grabbed an apple juice out of the fridge instead.
(Lol. Hey.)
Harper hung up the phone and shoved it back in his back pocket. Sticking his hands in his pockets, he sighed and made his way to the kitchen. He leaned against the counter as he tore a hand through his hair, so incredibly sick of how his sister couldn't seem to catch a break, while all he seemed to get were breaks.
"How long is the doctor going to be?" Liam asked, taking a sip of his drink.
"'Bout twenty minutes," Harper sighed, rubbing at his forehead with the heel of his hand. "Gosh, why can't she just catch a break?"
Liam sighed, "I don't know… but I wish she could. She needs it."
Harper slowly nodded his agreement. He thought for a moment before smiling a bit, seeming somewhat mischievous.
"We should plan something for her. A party or a spa day or something," he suggested with half of a smirk.
"A spa day sounds good. More relaxing then a party at least." Liam said, shrugging a shoulder and smiling a little.
"And she doesn't really like attention that much, anyway," Harper agreed, nodding slowly. "I think it's different for her when she's Kinesie, though…"
