"Blue? That's your name?" Sage piped, turning to the little monster. She patted it head. "That's really cute." Her eyes went to Werry next. He didn't look mad anymore.

Blue chirruped softly and hopped up into the bed with Werry, who seemed to notice she was there and shifted so his back was to her.
Blue hooted and burrowed into the sheets, poking its head from them.
Sage frowned. On the contrary, he was still very upset with her. She sat in a chair not too far away and looked to Blue. "Are you comfy up there?" she asked.
Blue hooted happily, and weird clapping noises came from the bed. Werry mumbled to the little monster, and it quieted down.
Sage sighed and curled up in her chair. She took out the granola bar she had yet to eat, breaking off small pieces to nibble on silently.
Blue hooted a couple more times before snuggling into Werry’s chest and cooing happily. Werry hummed softly in return, hugging the little monster.
Sage smiled sadly as she watched the two. Maybe…Just maybe it's time to go back to the surface… she thought. You've ruined someone's day and uncovered the lost scientist… that's excitement enough. I don't belong here. She rested her chin on her kness sighing. Tomorrow. Tomorrow, I'll ask for my phone and be on my way.
(Skip?)
((YEP))
(tO WHEN)
(( I don't know… the next day? Maybe Werry will hear her out this time and stop his shunning?))
(Hm ok. You start? Please?)
((Absolutely dear! <3))
Sage was curled snuggly in her chair, arms covering her face, knees up to her chest. Her breathing was calm and slow but she was hardly asleep. She knew how to pretend to be asleep, and to be a lot of other things… So instead of focusing on what she wasn't, she focussed on what made her happy.
Homer…
Werry stirred awake slowly, yawning slowly. Blue hooted softly in his arms, sitting up immediately. Blue hooted louder down at Werry, who was complaining quietly.
((I love Blue so much!))
Sage opened one green eyes and peeked out from her arms. "Good morning, Blue." She croaked, then wearily added. "Good Morning…. Werry."
(I do tooooo! I really like Sage.)
Blue hooted in return, flopping over Werry’s form and plapping onto the ground. It hobbled over, cooing at her.
Werry grunted a response, sighing and sitting up.
(( :D Thanks!))
Sage uncurled from her seat and leaned towards Blue, she held a hand out for the tiny monster. She gave it a soft smile. "Did you sleep well? Do you sleep?" She asked with a even softer laugh.
Blue hobbled closer, nudging its head against her hand. It rose its tiny arms and hopped up and down in its place, hooting loudly. Werry didn’t answer her question, he just stood and crossed the room, grabbing clothes.
Sage scooped Blue into her arms, but her tired eyes were on Werry as he grabbed clothes. He really wasn't speaking to her in the slightest. She frowned and held Blue close.
Blue hooted happily and feebly wrapped its arms around her. Hoot hoot! it went to Werry, who didn’t respond.
"Werry…" she tried again. She couldn't take it anymore. He'd shunned her into utter misery. No they didn't have a swell start, but this was ridiculous. She stood and took a few steps towards him. "Werry, please just-" She placed a hand on his arm.
Werry took his arm back from under her hand, turning so he was facing the bathroom. Blue hooted serenely from its spot in Sage’s arms as Werry stalked to thr bathroom and shut the door.
She jumped when he shut the door, even though he didn't slam it, her hand still lingering. "I'm sorry…" she whispered into the air. She stepped closer and pressed her forehead against the door. "I didn't mean what I said about you, Werry. And I know I was wrong about your monsters. They're kind and loving and real…Just listen to me, please…"
Werry ignored her and shucked off his shirt. He threw on a clean, crisp t-shirt and a clean lab coat, replacing it over his shirt before throwing on his typical jeans.
Blue cooed softly up at her, gently pressing a kiss to her chin.
((Sorry, I really thought I posted my answer))
Sage sighed. She should've expected this. She always suffered punishment for the things she did wrong. That's the way of the world… A voice hissed in her mind. Besides, Werry's silence wasn't the worst that could happen, surely she had seen much, much harsher treatment. But his icy quiet hurt her just as much as she figured her words did him. She deserved this…and more.
"Thank you Blue." She cooed with a small smile, nuzzling the tiny monster. Yes, she should be grateful. Werry hadn't been too loud, he hadn't cursed or hit her. He was much more gentler than other people. So she fought her tears, what reason did she have to cry? "I'm fine…" She said, her voice airy and fake as she broadened her smile. "I'm more than fine." She sat on the bed, holding Blue close with trembling arms.
