She froze, her eyes on Werry. She wanted to run, she wanted to get as far away as possible. What were those things? She managed a step back before her knee buckled and she fell on her butt. But her eyes never left him, wide and fearful.

Werry gently lifted up the monster and looked across the hall at Sage.
“Sage? What the hell are you doing? You’re scaring the monsters.”

Sage opened her mouth but only a series of strangled squeaks emitted from it. She crawled away from him, so getting to her feet and running. She didn't care where she went, she just wanted to get away.

The other monsters ducked down behind Werry, crooning softly into his labcoat. The smaller one burrowed into his shirt. Werry shook his head and turned his back on her, gently smiling at the monsters.

Albeit she ran into a few walls, Sage managed to get back to the room. Trembling furiously and lightly bruised, she locked the door behind her and hid in the bathroom. She curled up in the tub and tucked her head between her legs, the images of those monsters still in her mind and Werry… he cared for them…

Werry gently patted the monsters by one, purring a soft condolence. He set down the smaller one, and lead the other monsters into the kitchen. There were five in total, and he had yet to feed three.

Breathe….. Just Breathe….

Sage told herself as she fought for breath. She whimpered as she rocked on her heels. He just fed them and nuzzled them like it was completely normal. It wasn't normal! Her heart panicked within her chest. She raked her nails along it, hoping for a hole, hoping for an opening for air.

Werry pulled out some nuggets for the frightened monster, smiling as he handed it down. It squeaked before gobbling it up happily, hopping closer to his legs. Werry laughed gently.

Sage finally got breath, laying on her side in the tub. She breathed in through her nose and out through her mouth. Everything is alright… She told herself.

The other few monsters hobbled over, and Werry handed out food. He forgot about Sage momentarily, and continued happily handing out food.

Sage closed the curtains of the shower and remained their, locked inside that room. Somewhere in the time, she had fallen asleep, whimpering and crying as she was chased and tormented by screeching monsters of flesh and bone.

It was much later when Werry returned. He shut the door behind him, looked around the room and didn’t bother calling for her. He just threw on some comfortable clothing and laid down in his bed.

Sage was awake when Werry, hungry and sore from sleep in the tub. She climbed out and opened the door slowly. She looked through the crack and saw only Werry. None of the monsters followed him, but she remained where she was.

Werry heard the door open and shifted so his back was facing the door. He sighed and shut his eyes, trying to get to sleep as soon as possible so he didn't have to talk to her.

Sage crept out of the bathroom and stood in the doorway. "Werry…." She whispered. "Werry, I'm sorry for what I said…"

Werry ignored her, squeezing his eyes shut. He didn’t want to talk to her. He just wanted to sleep.

"I know you probably don't want to hear what I have to say. I understand because I was loud, rude, and utter wrong." Sage sighed and stepped back into the bathroom, she understood that he wanted no part with her, what she did had hurt him. "Please forgive me…." She shut the door once more and sat on the floor.

Werry didn’t call her back. His stomach rushed angrily with the righteous feeling of how right she was. He was glad she knew how wrong she was. She had offended him. And his monsters.

Sage leaned her head against the edge of the tub. She'd apologized… and now it was time for consequence. It came with everything she did so she was use to it. She braided a strand of her ginger hair, humming to herself. Guilt was there, wrapping it arms around her in a suffocating embrace, but she tried to pay it no mind.

(A few hours later sounds good. Maybe when he falls asleep and she gets bored?)

Deleted user

((Yeah, okay! Does she go to scope out the monsters again?))
