Melissa laughed slightly. "I'm on the 7th question," She said. there were only 10 questions. She was a bit ahead of Ciel. Lil put her head down and kept playing her game.
Melissa laughed slightly. "I'm on the 7th question," She said. there were only 10 questions. She was a bit ahead of Ciel. Lil put her head down and kept playing her game.
"Oh, gods." Ciel groaned and tapped her pencil on the table. "You're only two questions ahead of me, but it feels like there are oceans between the 5th and 7th question." She shook her head and focused on the question in front of her.
Melissa nodded. "Don't worry it's not much and I'll help you," She said looking at Ciel's paper and then her own. "What do you have so far?" She moved her chair slightly closer to her.
"This." Ciel tapped her work. It wasn't much, but it was going in the right direction. "I think I got it, but I don't know what to do after this." She pointed at the last line of work, where she was stuck.
Melissa nodded. "Yea that held me up too," she said before explaining it. She pointed at her paper and wrote some things on a scrap paper to help explain.
Ciel listened to Melissa's explanation, nodding as she followed along. "Thank you!" She exclaimed when Melissa had finished the explanation. "That helped so much! I think I got it now… probably." Ciel squinted at the worksheet as if daring it to stump her again.
Melissa nodded smiling at her. “That’s good. Let me know if you get stumped again. We can compare answers,” she said. Lili was asleep now.
"I will." Ciel smiled gratefully at Melissa and moved onto the next question. This one wasn't as hard as the one before it, and she managed to get it done in a reasonable amount of time.
Melissa finished the paper after a bit. She looked over at Ciel to see her progress. Since Lili was asleep she now had free use of both hands.
Ciel had two more problems left, and she was feeling pretty good about them. The help Melissa had given her earlier applied to a lot of the problems and Ciel was able to move through them quickly. She looked over at Melissa's paper and sighed. "Lucky, you're done. But don't worry, I think I'll be done in just a little bit."
Melissa nodded leaning slightly closer and watching over her shoulder slightly. “Like like we have all the same answers so that’s good,” she said smiling.
"Perfect." Ciel looked at Melissa with a smile, hear heart skipping slightly at Melissa's closeness. "One more to go!" She kept working on the problem, though she was slightly distracted by Melissa.
Melissa smiled. “That’s awesome! What should we do next?” she asked once she was finished.
"I don't know. What do you want to do?" Ciel asked, slipping her homework into the notebook and shoving it into her backpack. "I'm cool with whatever."
Cat shrugged “umm I guess we can play a game or just hang out,” she said packing up her stuff as well.
"Well, I have some games in my room. We can go check those out, and if nothing catches your eye, we could just hang out in there. Maybe put on some music?" Ciel suggested, looking at Melissa. "If you want, and if Lili would be okay with it, one of my moms could keep an eye on her. If not, I'm totally fine with her in my room."
“I umm she’s still asleep so if one of them doesn’t mind I can just lay her down somewhere. She should sleep for at least an hour,” she said glancing at Lili. She didn’t like leaving her with someone but she also wanted to just hang out with Ciel.
"We don't mind." Gema peeked into the dining room. "Sorry, but we overheard you talking. We can watch over her for a little while if you're okay with that." She smiled warmly at Melissa.
"Gema…" Ari appeared as well, giving Gema a stern look. "I'll have you know she was the one eavesdropping, not me. But what she said is true."
Melissa nodded. “That would be great,” she said smiling at them. She stood up and picked up Lili. “Do you want me to put her somewhere?” She was trying to seem calm. She glanced between Ciel and her moms.
"Wherever you feel she would be most comfortable," Gema answered, a reassuring look on her face. "Don't worry, Melissa. We'll come and get you if she needs anything from you." Ari nodded along with Gema's words.
Melissa nodded. “Thank you,” she said putting Lili down on the couch. She curled up slightly and Melissa looked at Ciel ready to go to her room.
Ari and Gema smiled at Melissa, then both went to sit in some armchairs near the couch, presumably so they could keep an eye on Lili. Ciel gave her mothers a thankful smile and looked at Melissa. "This way!" She led Melissa towards the back of the house, then opened a door and stepped inside. "Welcome to my room!" The room was full of light, with a bed in the corner, a desk, and a comfortable-looking armchair tucked into another corner.
Melissa followed and smiled when she looked around the room. “It’s nice,” she said her eyes landing on Ciel.
"Thanks." Ciel grinned at her and sat down on the bed. "Feel free to sit anywhere." For the moment, Ciel had completely forgotten about the games she'd suggested they play. She was just happy they'd both finished their homework.
Melissa sat down next to her. “So you mentioned games?” She asked. She was sitting slightly close to Ciel.
