Melissa smiled back. “Yeah cleaning isn’t but at least we can smell the cake bake as we do,” she said. She put away some of the ingredients.
Melissa smiled back. “Yeah cleaning isn’t but at least we can smell the cake bake as we do,” she said. She put away some of the ingredients.
"True, true." Ciel nodded, then breathed in deeply. "Oh, you can smell it already!" She sighed happily and turned the water on, cleaning off the bowl and the measuring cups.
Melissa breathes in as well and nodded. She put away the pans they didn’t use and then wiped down the counter that had a bit of flour and batter on it.
Ciel turned off the water and dried her hands on a towel. "What do you want to do while we wait for the cake to bake?" She asked, leaning against the counter and crossing her arms casually.
Melissa shrugged and leaned on the counter beside her. She put sn alarm on her phone. “We can do whatever,” she said smiling. “Talk play a game or literally just sit here I’m don’t care.” Its all fun when I’m with you
"Well, wanna go back to my room and hang out there?" Ciel suggested. By the time the cake was fully baked, the whole house would smell like it, so they didn't need to stay in the kitchen to smell the cake. "Or would you rather we stay here?"
“We can go to your room if you want,” she said smiling. Standing closer to Ciel.
"Okay." Ciel nodded and started towards her room. Her parents were still sitting in the living room, and she waved at them as she walked through. Ciel paused before the stairs to make sure Melissa was with her.
Melissa waved at them as well. Happy to see Lili still fast asleep. She walked with her.
Ciel bounded up the stairs and practically skipped into her room. She spun in a small circle before dropping onto her bed. "That was fun. I really hope the cake turns out good," Ciel said, staring at the ceiling.
“It should we did a good job making it!” Melissa reassured her as she sat down. She was smiling at the other girl.
"You're right." Ciel nodded and looked over at Melissa. "It will taste great." She grinned at Melissa, leaning towards her a bit. Ciel was practically floating on a cloud of happiness and felt as if nothing bad could happen.
Melissa glanced at Ciel lips but then quickly looked away. “I-I really like hanging out with you,” she said smiling.
"I do too," Ciel said. She had seen Melissa glance at her lips, but that couldn't be, right? Still… the thought suddenly drew her eyes to Melissa's lips, though she quickly looked up at Melissa's eyes. "You really are the best person I've hung out with for a long time."
Melissa blushed slightly. “Thank you. You are too really. You’ve seen the people I’ve been stuck with,” she said laughing slightly.
"Oh, yeah, they're kinda like some of my least favorite people at my old school." Ciel wrinkled her nose. "I'm glad I'm here to save you from them all," She continued, giving Melissa a crooked smile.
Melissa smiled and nodded. A part of her reminded her that this wouldn’t last. She can’t act on her feelings well at least in a way that’s fair to Ciel.
Ciel breathed in deep, a blissful smile spreading across her face. "Ah, smell that! If it tastes even half as good as it smells, I will be a happy girl." She closed her eyes and breathed in again. "Lovely."
Melissa nodded again. Breathing in deeply. “It smells so good,” she said looking at Ciel.
"Yeah. Oh, before I forget. Thank you so much for baking with me," Ciel said. "It was… so much fun, and I learned some stuff. And, of course, I got wowed by your complete awesomeness." She grinned at Melissa.
“Anytime,” She said. “It was really fun. Thanks for having me over.” She smiled wide. Moving slightly closer.
"Of course!" Ciel exclaimed. "You are welcome over here any time. I can tell my moms love you and Lili." She was sure she was speaking the truth– she knew her moms well enough to tell if they liked someone or not, and they most definitely liked Melissa.
Melissa’s smile grew and she blushed. “Really?” She asked. She shifted on the bed slightly.
"Yeah, I'm sure of it." Ciel nodded. "I mean, it might be helped by the fact that one, you brought an adorable child with you and two, you're actually nice, but they still like you." She grinned reassuringly at Melissa. "And, of course, you made a cake."
Melissa smiled. “Yeah Lili is pretty lovable,” she said. “And I guess he cake will definitely seal the deal.” She leaned back on her hands.
