He nodded his head in agreement. "I get that too sometimes." Connor smiled. "Look at you. Blushing. Well, still you didn't have to go through all of this trouble, just for me. I don't think I'm worth it." He scoffed. "In all honestly I probably brought you the most pain for lives on end. Hating you till the second you die. I honestly don't know how you could've liked me for that long when I've been such a dick to you." He poked at his food with his fork. "I mean I constantly turned you down in life afterlife and all you've done was care for me and I don't if you noticed, but I'm not the best at making friends. Whether you find it to be true or not. You were always there on my lowest days. Every time I cried, you were there hugging me even though I didn't want you to. The next day I would forget like it ever happened because I was scared. Every time you asked me what was wrong I would tell you. Maybe screaming it wasn't the best way to go, but you still knew everything about me in every life. I just don't get it. How could you love me for so long when every time you told me you loved me I just pushed it aside…I pushed you aside Jas. I'm just a fuck up." He gave a sad smile. "I'm sorry I probably brought the mood down huh…" He stuffed a piece of chicken in his mouth. "Honestly…what the hell did I do, to be sitting across the table from you eating dinner with on a date. What did I do to get this much love and affection from you…"
Jas took in a deep breath as he recalled their past lives together. While the days were spend chasing each other and throwing around futile threats, their nights were filled with either regret, or Jas going to whatever abode Connor had lived in in that life to comfort him or just talk. Nothing like the date today, more like dreaded meeting where he ended up apologising or feeling worse for his actions. "I did try to get over you a few times. Even married once. His name was Winston." He said softly, pulling a thin chain from out around his neck to show Connor the two wedding bands that were always beneath his shirts. "It worked for a life. We lived happily until his death. But after that I didn't want to marry. It felt wrong to suddenly have another life without them. I told myself theonly acception was you. I wanted that life with you. I wanted to make someone else happy again like I did with Winston. I thought that if I kept helping you. Stayed by your side, even as I played the role of your enemy by day, you'd see that I did truly care and loved you. I would suffer your hate for a chance at eternity together, not matter how long it's take." He glanced up and shook his head. "You're not. And you don't have to do anything to deserve my love, Connor. That's not how this works." He said softly, reaching over and he ntly taking Connor's hand in his own. "I honestly don't know either. Usually people who are pissed off most if the time is a deal breaker for me, but in you I find it cute, or at the very least, very amusing." He winked and continued eating, silently thanking Suni for the amazing food
Connor squeezed Jas's hand with a chuckle. "Tell me about Winston one day." He continued eating his food, almost choking on it when Jas winked at him. "I am not pissed off all the time!" he wined. "I just get pissed off…a lot. Th-There's a difference!" He finished his last bite of food and stood up from the table, with his plate. He looked around for a second, finding the sink, and placing his dish down. He walked behind Jas, dripping his arms over his neck, and hugging him from behind. "When I come out of the shower you better have cat ears and a tail. Otherwise, I will get mad. Trust me, I can do a lot of things when I'm mad…especially to you," His husky voice was right next to Jas's ear. "Okay? Leave me out a pile of clothes, when you get a chance." He said happily before kissing Jas on the cheek. He walked until he found the bathroom and walked in shutting the door behind him. Did I just say that? Connor looked in the bathroom mirror. I can't wait…
Jas laughed softly and nodded. "I will. I think you two would have gotten along pretty well." He was nearly done with his food when Connor draped his arm around him. Jas arched an eyebrow as he leaned into Connor's embrace. He purred softly and gently nudged Connor's head. "Are you threatening me in my own home, dearest? Hm, well I can't promise the tail, but maybe the ears." He leaned into the kiss and sighed softly. "What am I going to do with you." He mused with a grin. "They'll be outside the door when you finish." He stood from the table to clean the dishes that were in the sink as well as the pots and pans Suni had used to make the meal. When he finished, he went to his bedroom and found some clothes for Connor, an oversized black sweatshirts and some sweatpants. He set them outside the bathroom door and strode off to the living room to wait for Connor. He flopped down on the couch with a book and blanket, but before he started to read, he closed his eyes and concentrated on just shifting minimal features. When he opened his eyes he could feel his cat ears twitching to hear every minute sound. While his eyesight was relatively the same, he knew they had changed as well. He could also feel his cat fangs poking into his lip bit not enough to be uncomfortable
Connor took his shower with pretty hot water. He took his time making sure everything got clean. He also wanted to smell good so he made sure of that too. When he came out of the bathroom there was practically steam leaving the room. He took the clothes changing quickly before cleaning up the bathroom just a bit. He dried the floor because it was wet from him Connor took a small towel and started drying his hair with it. He turned the corner which led to another hallway that wasn't where he was supposed to be, Connor turned around and found himself in the living room. He gasped when he saw Jas on the couch with his cat ears. Connor's smile was the widest it's ever been. He stepped in front of Jas, not being able to stand still. "Whoah…You look so cute!" He looked at them in awe biting his lip. "Can I….Can I touch them?"
Jas jumped in surprise as Connor spoke, forgetting how sensitive his ears were. He set his book down and pulled his legs closer to his body, making room for Connor on the couch. He nodded shyly, having never really let anyone anywhere this close to him, especially if any of his car features were showing in his human form, save for Winston and Connor. He wasn't used to being normal, or at least what he could sidered normal around many people. "After all this asking, I really hope you're a cat person, dear." He teased, closing his eyes as Connor leaning in to pet him.
Connor sat next to Jas, reaching up to touch Jas’s ears. “Of course I’m a cat person…” he said softly. He touched the tips of the cat ears soon stroking them lightly. “They’re so cute and soft…” he kissed them lightly, with a chuckle. “Okay, okay, I’m done. For now….” He smirked and kissed his cheek. “Where’s the wine you said you had?” Connor licked his lips, rubbing his hands together. “Can we play some music too?” Connor was excited to feel Jas’s warmth. He loved the way the hugged because it just felt so right. “Let’s relax tonight. Tomorrow is my day off. I know a hero having a day off, but it’s true unless I’m seeing the crime happen I don’t have to do shit. So, would you mind if I slept here tonight? With you?”
Jas shivered in delight, leaning into Connor's petting then kisses. He laughed softly and lightly rested his head against Connor's shoulder. "For now?" He asked with another laugh as he stood to find the wine and a tub of ice cream from the fridge. He handed cinnortwo wine glasses as well as a spoon before plopping down on the couch and turning on some music from his phone, letting it play loud enough to hear but not so loud to interrupt their conversation. "It's a mystery you never got a day off whenever I did something, huh?" He teased, pressing a kiss to Connor's head as he drew him in to cuddle. "Of course I don't mind. You're in my clothes after all. You can sleep with me if you'd like." He blushed lightly at the thought but knew he couldnt refuse.
Connor took the glass, snuggling in close with Jas. "Well, they're my clothes now. I'm going to be stealing your hoodies, from here on out." Connor took a sip of his wine letting it flow down his throat with a satisfied sigh. "This is nice…" Connor closed his eyes, letting everything just sink in. He hummed softly along to the music, tapping along to the beat of Jas's inner thigh. "I like this…a lot…" He kissed Jas's neck that being the only part of his that Connor could reach without moving too much. Connor reached up and started putting his ears again. "Today, as the worst I had to file all of the papers regarding your release. It was very boring, but I did listen to music so it ended up being quite fun. Then Jake had to come and ruin the vibe. He was just kind of sitting there staring at me and it was honestly creepy. I mean he didn't say anything just staring. Even the co-workers thought it was weird and then when I finished and went go leave, he stopped me in the hallway. He confessed his love for me, for about the 15th time. I told him I wasn't interested at all, but it was still weird because after that he just backed off."
Jas shook his head adoringly at Connor, "first you take my heart, my home, and now my clothes?" Jas sighed and took a sip of wine. "And they call me a their." He teased. Jas leaned into the kisses and gentle touches, his purring returning as Connor petted his ears again. "I like this too," he murmured, setting his cup of wine down so that he could hug Connor closer and reach the ice cream in his lap. "Hey, you can't complain about the paperwork, you're the one who wanted to take me in so badly." He reasoned, gently resting his head against Connor's. Jas grew silent as Connor spoke about Jake. If he hadn't been caught, or he had never confessed himself, would Connor had given Jake a chance? In all honesty, has felt bad for Jake. He knew what it was like, pining from afar. Knowing, that no matter how many 'i love you's' and 'i want you's' are said, the same love would never resiprocated. He silently made a plan to go see Hake tomorrow morning, not wanting to find what Jake would do both to innocent people or to himself. Knowing what he did on the past, Jas could relate to Jake now. He only hoped morning wasn't too late.
“Yes, I’m taking your clothes. When you’re not with me what else am I supposed to do.” Connor laughed. “Hey Jas…did you mind me calling you my boyfriend? Cause if you did that’s what we have to be, but that’s what I want to be. I mean if you have something else I mind I totally get that.” He tilted the cup in all directions before gulping the whole thing down. Connor didn’t know what to call Jas because he never really made it clear. He bit his lip nervously and his overthinking started once more. It was hard for him to stop overthinking unless you go him distracted.
Jas shook his worry away for now and smiled softly. "In all honesty, I was surprised at first when you said it, bit no, I don't mind at all. I wouldn't know what to call you either, other than partner. But that feels to formal." He shrugged and too a bite of the ice cream. His brows knitting together as he watched Connor down the entire glass of wine in one go. He gently took his free hand and pressed a kiss to the his knuckles. "I'm yours, love. It doesn't matter what you call me. From now on, I'll be yours." He promised, offering a reassuring smile.
Connor turned his head so he had a good view of Jas's face. "Okay. Well, that means I'm yours too." Connor adjusted positions, so he was facing Jas while he sitting on his lap. He kissed Jas's forehead lovingly. Connor took Jas's cheeks lifting them, so he would be the only thing in his line of sight. "I want you to know, that it's not one-sided anymore. I am yours just as much as you are mine. Maybe I still have to wrap my head around it, but no one is going to change that. Not even the most charming of people could make me think differently. You're not alone. We're this together. Okay?" Connor planted a kiss on Jas's lips. It was soft and slow as he wrapped his arms around Jas's neck. "I'm yours too got it?" He whispered this last sentence right next to his cat ears. His smiled was bright and comfortable when he pulled away to look at Jas. When he looked into Jas's eyes it made him want to cry. Connor felt warm and safe with Jas like nothing bad could happen when they were together.
Jas hadn't realized how much he had wanted to hear those words until Conor had spoken. He wasn't alone anymore. He didn't have to love from afar. He didn't have to pretend that Connor felt the same as he did because now it was true. Jas held Connor securely to his form as they kissed, hands knotting in the old sweatshirt and into Connor's hair. He hummed softly as he tasted the wine on Connor's lips, finding it sweet and all around wonderful. Jas sighed softly and nodded his head, burying his face in oConnor's shoulder as he whispered "got it," his ears flicking at the sensation of Connor's breath tickling him. He pulled back slightly and gazed at Connor, their heads together and pressing a light kiss to his nose. "I love you." He murmured, repeating the phrase softly as he shifted their position on the couch, never once letting go of Connor as he layer on his back, pulling the other down with him
Connor giggled, "I love you too, Mr. Needy." He's so cute when he acts like this. Connor snuggled against Jas's chest. His face flushed with content. He liked how calm and slow things were. Then his phone rang, disturbing the music and soft vibe hanging in the air. "Nope, I am off work, I'm not picking up shit." Connor blocked the noise out closing his eyes. "Nothing could get better than this. He reached up and kissed Jas's jaw. "Hey…Are you still going to do crimes and stuff like that. I don't know if you still have a reason to if we are what we are now. Don't get me wrong either that's certainly not why with you, I really do love you, I swear." He sighed. "I just want to know what you're going to do from here on out."
“Yes i am very needy. It’s something you’re gonna have to deal with, darling.” Jas said, pulling a blanket from the back of the couch and covering them both. He chuckled lighyly as connor let the phone ring until voicemail. “You’re very popular at work, huh?” He mused with intrigue. “Too bad i dont feel like sharing you tonight.” He grinned and tilted his head as Connor kissed his jaw. “My lips are a bit higher, dear.” He purred, gently taking Connor’s chin between his thumb and index finger and guiding him to his mouth, slowly drawing out a kiss before gently breaking apart. He thought for a moment. “There are still people out there that your little agency overlook.” He said slowly. “If i can help stop them in any way, on my own terms, i will. With or without the agency backing me up. Believe it or not, i havn’t killed all that many people. Only the ones who truely deserved it.” He explained softly.
Connor leaned into the kiss. "Well just be careful okay? I don't want you getting killed out there." A grin spread across his face. he moved up slightly moving Jas's hair out of his face. "You're not gonna share me tonight?" He muttered against Jas's lips, before giving him a light peck, which soon turned into a loving kiss. Connor couldn't help but smile against Jas's lips. It felt electric when they kissed. It made his heartbeat fast and his body tense but in a good way. "I don't mind you being needy." Connor giggled.
"in the livesn that we've lived, you honestly think I'd be so careless as to get myself killed in the first life I get to have you by my side?" Jas laughed softly and pressed a reassuring kiss to Connor's brow. "I promise you that I'll live this and every single life we have together out to the fullest." He murmured softly, leaning into Connor's touch. He matched his lovers grinned and shook his head slightly as their breath mingled. "Not tonight, and not any other night you let me have with you." He muttered against Connor's lips, the sentiment melting into the kiss. "Ah, you say that now. Give it a few weeks and you might be changing your mind, dear." He teased.
Connor shook his head, resting back down on Jas’s chest. “Never. I would never regret anything.” Connor sat up reaching over to his empty wine glass. He couldn’t really move so he just sat of Jas’s waist to make it easier for him. He poured out the wine almost spilling it as he placed the bottle back down. He let the wine down his throat as the entire glass was gone in a matter of seconds. He stretched before laying back down. “You should probably…take a shower so we could go to bed…” With every pause came a yawn. Connor didn’t want to move though because it was way too warm.
Jas watched him with an amused smile before gently taking the bottle from Connor and scooting it out of reach. He laughed softly and slowly sat up so as to not disturb Connor. "Alright, dear." He swiftly scooped Connor up in his arms and brought him to his bedroom which was at the end of the winding hallway. He had always appreciated the twisted hallway, proving confusion for anyone who seemed him out whele he escaped as well as catering to his subtle Wonderlandian aesthetic. He set Connor down in the equally comfortable bed and tucked him in. "I'll be back in a few minutes." He promised, pressing a kiss to his brow before walking off to find his pyjamas and off to the bathroom to take a shower
His face frowned as he was pulled away from the bottle of wine. "You're so mean" he groaned. He rested his body in Jas's arms as he was carried, letting him do all the work. Once he was set down he leaned into the kiss before frowning again. He reached for Jas but didn't catch him in time. Connor rolled over in bed stretching out his legs. His face was red from the wine that he chugged down earlier. As Connor waited he looked around the room, but the more he looked the more sleepy he got. Soon his eyes felt too heavy so they shut, while his body faced the ceiling.
Jas took a nice warm shower, not taking g very long since he was exhausted from helping suni set up for the date. He pulled on a fluffy sweatshirt and comfortable PJ pants before walking out and making sure everything was locked and safe. He closed the door behind him as he went to his bedroom, a small smile falling to his lips as he saw that Connor had taken up nearly the entire bed. "Oh that will simply not do my dearest." He murmured as he carefully took off his necklas with the two wedding bands and setting it down next to an old photo of him and Winston sitting together, Winston sitting prettily in Jas's lap, neither looking at the camera, instead gazing at each other. He lightly touched the photo and smiled before walking to the side of the bed and melting into the plush covers and soft matress. He lightly brushed aside Connor's hair and pressed a kiss to his brow. "May you have the sweetest of dreams, love." He murmured, shifting into a cat and curling up against Connor's side
Connor felt Jas next to him wrapping the small black cat in his arms. “Soft kitty…” he giggled before falling asleep. Connor woke up with the sun shining on his face almost blinding him. He had a slight headache, but nothing too server. He rubbed his eyes to help him see the room better. “Where…? Right…last night we…had our date…” When he sat up he noticed the picture of Jas and some other person. He frowned, but soon realized it was probably his husband from way before. He smiled and plopped back down on the bed starring up at the ceiling, while holding his head. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath.
Jas had slept immaculately that night, from the moment his little head hit the pillow, he was soaked away to dream Land. The next morning, he woke up warm and cozy, right up against Connor. He blinked awake and yawned, stretching out his back and tail before padding around in a circle. He sniffed at Connor's face before climbing up ontop of him and settling down, his paws tucked underneath him. He gently nudged Connor's face with his head, loudly purring to wake him. He still couldn't believe that Connor was here with him, loving him. He licked his cheek and swatted lightly at his nose. Sleepy head, and you wanted more wine last night. Jas silently scolded, a soft meow of a laugh escaping him
Connor rubbed his nose. His eyes fluttered open and turned his head to look Jas. "Oh hey." Connor lifting him up nuzzling his face into Jas's belly. "Why are you waking me up. It's my day off, let me sleep and cuddle with you. He held Jas above his head while lying down flat on the bed. He tilted his head and let out a laugh. "I can't believe you're waking me up right now. Can't your boyfriend get some nice relaxation with the only person I have eyes for? Hm?" Connor kissed his nose bringing him back against his chest, closing his eyes once more. He wasn't fully asleep yet, but he was trying to. "I'll make you breakfast later okay…?" he said softly in a tired voice.
