Connor took a deep breath enjoying the view from the window. It made him feel relaxed and calm. He could help but smile to himself, while he admired everything. He turned around looking at Jas with a smirk. "You look handsome." Connor turned around walked to the door that led out the apartment. "Well, anywhere is fine, as long as it's with you." Connor opened the door standing directly next to it. "Remember, if you don't get back in time, you owe me breakfast at work tomorrow. I'll be here waiting when you get back okay?" Connor gave a sad smile clutching the doorknob behind his back. "I'll find something to keep me busy."
Jas glanced down at himself and blushed. "Thank you, dear." He had forgotten Connor rarely saw him as he normally was. Most of the time it was in his suit and mask instead of normal clothes. He sighed with a smile and looped his arms around Connor's waist, ignoring the open door for now. He leaned in close, lips barely an inch away. "Is that a promise that you'll stay another night?" He murmured, tugging the other as close as he dared. "The thought of you waiting here only makes me want to nevereave, love." He gently nudged aside the sleeve of the sweatshirt and kissed Connor's shoulder, trailinged his way up his neck then brushed a soft kiss to his lips. "I'll be back to finish that kiss, I promise." He took a step back and grabbed a jacket close to the door. "I'll be back soon." He reassured before dissapearing into thin air
Connor made a small squeak when Jas pulled him in close by his waist. "I-I don't know…" Connor looked away with a small blush crawling on his cheeks. He griped Jas's shoulders leaning into every kiss Jas's planted on him. His eyes were closed when Jas pulled away not finishing the last one. He pouted, "Honestly, y-you're such a tease." Connor shook his head crossing his arms over his chest while he leaned on one foot. He watched Jas disappear. "Why did I open the door if he just teleports. I completely forgot….stupid…" He whis[ered to himself closing and locked the door. Now what do I do? Is this what Jas felt like when he was in jail while I was gone? Connor walked back into the bedroom flopping back on the bed, falling asleep for good this time. He was very tired today and his headache ended up getting much worse.
Jas appeared back at the hero's main building, tanking the chance that they wouldn't arrest him agaim since he hadn't done anything wrong since his release. Well, save for entering unauthorized. Jas decided to appear in the hall leading to the main meeting place, not because he wanted the grand entrance effect, thought that was a small perk, no, he wanted to gather his thoughts. If Jake truly did intend harm after being rejected by Connor, here would be the best place to handle that. If he didn't, then Jas would continue to be vigilant but he'd back off if only to ensure Connor's and his own safety. He paused before the doors and took a deep breath, for a moment wondering if he'd lash out if he knew Connor loved another. Of course he had been rejected many times before and he assumed Connor had been with others before, and he had of course done the same when he married Winston so very long ago but Jas had always found comfort int he thought that he'd always have more chances no matter how many lives it took to win Connor over. Jake only had one. And now that chance was gone for as long as Connor and Jas stayed together. No matter how many times he had been shot down by the one he adored so deeply, Jas would never understand losing his one and only chance of love, not like mortal people. With that in mind, he shoved open the door without his usual flourish or flare and silently strode to Jake's desk, ignoring the glared and shocked looks. He plopped down into a chair in front of the desk and rested his head in his hand. "Hello, dear."
Jake looked up looking around. He pointed to himself. "Are you talking to me? What do you want? I piss you off and you piss me off so why are you here or not with…Connor. It's his day off anyway, so he should be with you right now. Leave me alone, go make like my dad, and walk out of my life." Jake knew his schedule day in and day out. He knew everything about Connor. What he likes, what he hates, what he wants, who he wants, and etc. Jakes stacked the papers, slamming them down on the desk he stood up, getting a pen and writing something on top of the stack before picking it up. He lifted the stack of paper with ease, placing them on the next desk. He sat down looking at his phones and slowly turned his head over to Jas. "What are you still doing here. Connor's probably waiting for you. I don't know why you came to talk to me…" His tone went from angry to sad whenever he said Connor's name. It hurt to say it.
Jas arched an eyebrow in surprise. He knew Jake was obsessed with Connor but he didn't know just by how much. He lightly tapped his lip in thought. "He's at my place, most likly sleeping again." He didn't really know why he told Jake but later he'd assume it was because, despite what he thought of Jake he knew he cared about Connor. "You love him. He said after a while. "I'd say as much as I do." He sighed softly and met Jake's gaze. "We're similar. In background and in our love for Connor, dispute his hatred for us both in the begining." He shrugged and stood. Everything that he had wanted to say, wanted to advise Jake not to do was gone because he knew if anyone came to him telling him to calm down or not do something would immediatly be pushed aside and ignored. "If anything were to happen to me, no matter what, take care of him. He doesn't need all the antics and showiness. Usually wine and cuddles will do enough." Was that's slight jab? Yes. Did Jas mean to make Jake a bit jelous? Maybe. He left through the front door again without the florist or any goodbyes.
Jake was confused, but happy at the same time. "Nothing's gonna happen. I'll make sure of that. If Connor's happy with you, then that means I'll just have to protect you too…" He smiled to himself and was in a better mood for the rest of the day.
Connor woke up, sitting straight up in the bed. his hair looked like a mess as he scratched it. He started to fan himself with his hand. He took off the sweatpants that Jas gave him throwing them on the ground. He sat there looking at the ceiling. I wonder what business he had to take care of. He's taking so long. What are we gonna get to eat? Connor spread his limbs out over the blankets letting himself cool down. His stomach growled, which made him hold his stomach. "I should probably get up." He forced himself to get off the bed opening the door to the bedroom. He walked to the kitchen looking in the fridge. He groaned, "Nothing…"
Once out of the building, Jas immediatly made a few stops at the store to.pick a few things. While Connor had said no to breakfast or dinner, he decided to pick up a few ingredients to make something out of as well as some sweets, having always been a huge dessert person. He also stopped by a clothing store as well to pick up some extra sweatshirts. He came home around two hours later, bags filling his hands and a box balancing on his arm. He carefully made his way to the kitchen and set everything down before leaning against the counter with a huff in effort. He tilted his head curiously and searched around the apartment for Connor, finally finding him in a chair in the livingroom. "Look who's awake." He chuckled softly and sat on the arm of the chair, lightly running his hands through Connor's hair. "Where are your pants dear?" He asked, stifling a laugh.
Connor jerked his head up. He smiled, rubbing his eyes. He honestly almost fell asleep on the table. He leaned into Jas's hand. "Welcome home…" He yawned. "I got tired again so I slept some more in your bed. Then I woke up really swear so I took off the sweatpants and threw them on the floor. Sorry…" Connor looked up to Jas. "If you don't mind me asking what did you go and do? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to…" He opened his eyes some more, he wanted to have his vision stop being so blurry. It wasn't fun to see everything with blotches of water in front of it. Once he cleared out his eyes, he rested his head on Jas's leg.
Jas shook his head and pressed a light kiss to Connor's head. "Don't be, darling. I don't mind. I can find you a different shirt if the sweatshirt us too much." He offered, caressing his cheek as Connor glanced up. "I actually went to see Jake, just to make sure everything was alright." He explained softly, gently nudging Connor aside so he could slide in beside him and pulling him into his lap. "After what you told me, and seeing how much Jake seemed to love you, completely cutting him off like that and him having that reaction raised some concerns for me. So I went to the institute and talked to him for a bit, that's all." He reassured. "Then I went out and got some groceries." He pressed a kiss to his head and nuzzled his cheek. "Ready to make breakfast? I'm starving."
Connor nodded his head violently. "I would very much like a shirt." He giggled. His eyebrows furrowed together. "Well, I was hoping he was okay. I was going to ask him about it tomorrow, but thanks for doing it first. Connor leaned against Jas's frame. I miss your hugs already. It's like once who feel it you can never let go of it you know. It's like you imprinted your heat onto me." Connor gave Jas a light kiss on his jaw. "What about that kiss you promised me you would finish hm? I'm not making anything until you finished what you started." Connor closed his eyes digging his head into Jas's neck.
Jas breathed a laugh and smiled softly. Connor would be fine with Jake if anything were to happen to him. Even if they didn't form a romantic relationship, they'd keep each other safe. He arched an eyebrow, a grin spreading over his features as Connor dug his face into his neck. "I may be a lot of things, love," he slowly tilted Connor's head up with a gentle hand, "but you will quickly find out that I don't lie. At least when it counts." He winked and leaned in close, lips brushing against Connor's in a tentative kiss before deepening into something more heated, more wanting. He had waited far too long for this. To finally be able to love Connor the way he had wanted in so many lives was both relieving and exhilarating. He lightly rested a hand on his waist and back, holding Connor close to his frame as they kissed. He he lightly nipped at his lips before quickly kissing them again, a sent tease among the love he poured into ever show of affection. Jas pulled back a few inches to chatch his breath, a serene smile on his face and he looked Connor over for a moment.
Connor wrapped his hands around Jas's neck bringing them even closer. Connor could feel Jas's want through every touch and through the kiss. The only way he could tell was because he wanted it to. Maybe not as bad as Jas but he was getting there. Kissing Jas wan always unforgettable and always special. It was never anything less. Connor made a small noise when Jas touched his waist and back. Ja's touch made his back arc ever so slightly, he wasn't used to handing being on him like that. The way Jas pulled away from Connor left him with the feeling of wanting more. "You are very good at that." Connor chuckled looking at him in the eyes. He bit his lip nervously, laying his head on Jas's shoulder. "I should go m-make us some breakfast. Make sure you bring that shirt." Connor's ears turned red as he slowly got off Jas's lap. On his way to the counter, he snatched the bag from the table. He looked at what he had and decided to make some waffles with eggs and bacon. If Jas wasn't going to eat it all he definitely will. "You're such a tease…"
Jas smiled as he let Connor get up, having seen a peek of his reddened ears. "I will, sweetheart." He reassured, standing once Conner had gone to the bathroom and went to his bedroom to find a short sleeved shirt for Connor. He came back to the kitchen and gently nudged Connor. "This should do alright, maybe a bit big but not that bad." He said, handing Connor the shirt then helping him put away some of the groceries he had bought. Have any idea what's for breakfast yet?" He asked, looking at what he had bought with a tilted of his head. He hadn't bought much, mostly basics such as eggs, flour, milk, some fruits and vegetables and other food items he thought he'd need.
"Thank you." Connor had taken the shirt, placing it on the counter. He pulled off his hoodie placing it on a nearby chair before putting on the shirt that Jas got him. It wasn't that big but it sure was comfortable. It goes down to just where his boxers ended. Connor nodded to Jas's question. "Yeah, Waffles, eggs, and bacon. How do you like your eggs?" Connor took out the stuff placing everything neatly on the counter. He pushed the plastic bag aside. He looked through the cabinets a looking for a large bowl he could use to mix everything together. Once he found it he moved it from the shelf to the counter. Then once he got everything he started to cook. "So what was the outcome with Jake. He say anything?" Connor reached for the flour measuring it while he poured it in the bowl.
Jas glanced away with a nod and tried his best not to think about Connor shirtless, in nothing but his boxers. He glanced back after a few moments, "hm? Oh, fried with the told slightly runny." He said, scanning Connor over with a small smile. It gave Connor a warm feeling knowing Connor was in his clothes. To be comfortable enough to be so normal in his home around him. He stepped closer to him and lightly rested his head on Connor's shoulder, wrapping him in loose embrace as he watched Connor work. While he had never been great at cooking in any life, he found the act of cooking and art form, always loving tieatch someone make a meal, not matter how small, from scratch. He nuzzled into Connor's neck. "He told me everything's alright. More or less." He replied softly. Jas didn't truly know if he could trust Jake, didn't know if Jake himself would take it upon himself to dispatch Jas just to hmget to Connor. But if what he said were true, and if he meant his word about taking care of Connor if anything happened to Jas, then Jas would rest easy.
Connor gave a soft laugh. "You're going to distract me if you do that." He didn't want to tell him to get off because secretly he liked it. He let Jas do whatever he wanted to do. Connor smile warmly. "Well, I'm glad he's doing okay." He wiped his face cause flour to get on it. As he poured more things into the bowl it started to look more and more like waffle batter. "Do you have a waffle maker, if you don't I can just make pancakes?" Connor pet Jas's hair with a hand that wasn't covered in stickiness and flour. "You are very cute with you hug me like this. You're just like a baby who is attached to their mom. Not that I'm complaining…" he smirked while he whisked everything together in the bowl.
Jas purred softly, closing his eyes as Connor pet his hair and leaning heavily into his hand. "I'm a cat, love. I enjoy being close, especially to you." He murmured softly before nodding and breaking apart breifly to rifle through his cabinets. He had been given a few cooking utilities from his friends, thinking that if Jas had the proper equipment, then he'd get better at cooking. Little did they know, having the equipment would deter Jas more from trying. But he kept every gift out of curtesy. He pulled out a metal waffle machine and set it on the counter. "I've never used it but I think I should work fine." He said, jumping up ontot he counter and shifting into a cat. He stretched out his back and sniffed at the batter, meowing curiously. He jumped up onto Connor's shoulders and curled up comfortably, his tail lightly flicking at his cheek
Connor scoffed and continued working. He plugged in the waffle maker spraying cooking oil on it. Once it was hot he poured some batter on it and moved onto his next dish. He laughed when Jas hopped on his shoulder flicking his tail at him. "Stop that it tickles." His smile was big and wide as he continues to get a pan. He put it on the stove, letting the pan heat up before spraying more cooking oil on it. He cracked two eggs making sure the shell wasn't in it and continued to cook. Connor reached to Jas petting him lightly and kissing his ear.
"exactly the reason why I do this, dear" Jas thought, licking Connor's cheek as he watched him pour the batter into the waffle maker. He gently swatted towards the bowl and meowed, ceasing his protest at not getting a taste as he melted into Connor's petting with a deep, rumbling pur. He arched his pack and nudged Connor's head affectionatly, gently poking at Connor's ears with a fluffy little paw. He tilted his head and curled around Connor like a scarf, tail around Connor's neck.
"Stop it," he giggled. He put a hand over his ear. "You know they're sensitive." He shook his head in disbelief. "You are not getting a taste mister. You have to wait." Connor shivered while he opened the bacon. "Y-You can't just curl around my neck like that." His ears turned red while his face with stained with a bright red blush. "Jeez, you sure like your cuddles. How about instead of crawling all over you me you get the table repaired once I finish? hm?" Connor placed the bacon in another pan letting it crackle on top of the stove. He took out two plates one for him and one for Jas. He needed these so he could place the food somewhere.
Jas grinned and lightly pawed at Connor's nose and cheeks, satisfied, that even in his cat form, he could get such an adorable reaction out of Connor. He rolled his eyes and jumped off of Connor's shoulders to the floor, trotting around before shifting back to human. "And if I prefer to cuddle you instead, then what, hm?" He murmured, hugging Connor for a moment and kissing his temple before sighing and reluctantly heading off to set the small dining room tae for breakfast which now probably was brunch. "So where'd you learn how to cook?" He asked from the dining room. "Somone teach or is it something you picked up on whim?"
"If you decided to cuddle me you wouldn't get any breakfast and neither would I and you would never want your darling going hungry now would you?." Connor took out the waffle seeing as it was done, putting it on the plate. He poed that last of the batter into the waffle maker and closed it again. He took the eggs off the stove, turning off the flame. He watched the bacon pop and simmer as he waited. "I learned how to cook from my mom. I asked her to teach me so she did. Since I ended up cooking better than her she stopped cooking and I was the one carrying the family."
"she taut you well." Jas said softly, but loud enough to hear from the dining area. He never really heard Connor speak about his childhood, much less his parents. He ambled back to Connor's side. "I can't wait to eat your cooking. And hey, maybe you can teach me." He gently nudged Connor's shoulder in encouragement before taking a few utensils to the dining area. "How's the rest of your family?" He asked, hoping up to the extra space on the counter to wait for the waffles to be done.
Connor laughed, "No, no, no you would burn the kitchen down if I even tried to teach you how to cook." Connor sighed taking the bacon off the stove and moving it to the plate. He leaned on the counter, looking back to Jas. "Well…I haven't seen them in a while. I think my little brother might be 18 now. That's crazy. I should probably go visit them." His voice was soft but sad. "I mean. I don't know how they are. I hope they're doing okay. They probably are." Connor ran a finger through his hair. He let out a frustrated sigh. "Hey, if I took a sick day tomorrow to go visit them would you come?" Connor griped his arm, scratching at it.
"I would not!" He huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "I only did that twice on accident." He muttered with a sigh. He glanced over at Connor, his eyes softened as he listened to Connor describe his family. He loved his own family, especially his older sister. They knew what he did and why but Jas couldn't help but think that he worried them to no end. He slid off the counter and gently took Connor's hands in his own. "I'll go wherever you go, love." He reassured with a kiss to his brow. "But are you sure you want me to meet your family now? I'm not exactly known as the best person to be around. They undoubtedly know about what I've done to you in the last, no?"
Connor squeezed Jas's hands. "Well, maybe your right." Connor heard the waffle maker beep so He unplugged it pulling out the waffle. "Breakfast is served." Connor kissed his cheeks taking the two plates and putting them on the table. "So what will we be doing for my day off? I mean I wouldn't mind with we just stayed and cuddled all day, but there has to be something that you wanted me to do." He sat down at the table, waiting for Jas so they can both start eating. He never really liked eating without the other person having their food.
Jas sighed softly and pressed a kiss to Connor's hand. "Well visit them soon, I promise. Just let fix a few things here and we'll go as soon as all the loose ends are tied." He reassured, following Connor to the table and plopping down next to him. "You know you don't have to take days off just to stay with me, right. I know your job is important. That's not to say I don't enjoy you staying all day here, of course." He took a bite of food and shaking his head in disbelief. "This is amazing, sweetheart. Far better than anything I could ever make. And it looked so easy!" He ate in silence for a few minutes, needing to savor the food as well as think. "I mean, there are a few places I know are pretty great that we can visit. It's a little out of the way but I'm sure you're up to the challenge." He grinned, his eyes gleaming a bright green in the light of the late morning
(Me just now realizing this is still the morning.)
Connor just shook his head. "No, I planned to have a day off. It's only one though. It's hard to get a day off when you're out there saving everybody's ass." Connor started to eat his food giving a muffled laugh. He loved the way Jas reacted to his food. It made him happy that someone liked it other than him. He didn't really get many opportunities to show people his cooking. "Thank you!" he managed to say with all of the food in his mouth. Connor swallowed his food with a big gulp. "Did you say challenge? Who do you take me for? I'm always up for a challenge." he smirked back, stuffing a piece of bacon in his mouth. He licked the syrup off the corner of his lips. "I'm up for anything."
Jas grinned, nearly choking on his food as he watch Connor ear. "You're a mess, my love. An absolutely gorgeous mess." He teased. "And yes indeed. I did say challenge." He rested his head on his hand, his smirk widening as his eyes glimmered with mischeif. "Anything, you say?" He lightly tapped a finger against his lips in thought. "If that's the case, then I have a few places that I think we're going to go tomorrow." He said vaguely, enjoying himself immensely. "But what about for today? Any plans?" Jas asked, mind racing with future plans.
